    Help me identify this Maytag

A212 is small capacity standard tub size. Oh ok then yeah this is definitely a 512. Thanks for the help guys! I wish I was as knowledgeable with the Maytag lineup as you guys.

    Help me identify this Maytag

If the one in the picture is a 512 then that's what it is because it looks just like that. What is the difference between a 212 and a 512?

    Help me identify this Maytag

Ok I am going to go ahead and apologize because I do not have any pictures, but I will do my best to describe it in enough detail for the Maytag experts to be able to easily figure out the model number. This washer looks like it is mid-late 80's and is a Fabric-Matic large capacity machine. It...

    Filter Flo Washer in Ohio

Bad news Someone bought it out from under me!! Man I am so disappointed! I knew a nice machine like this for such a low price was definitely going to sell fast but darn it's so frustrating when you miss out on your dream machine like this. All part of the experience I suppose...

    Filter Flo Washer in Ohio

Yes I know what you mean. I didn't mean that in a condescending way so sorry if that's how I came off. I do agree that it does use a bit more water than other machines of similar capacity, but water is incredibly cheap where I live so that is no concern to me.

    Filter Flo Washer in Ohio

50 gallons of water on a typical load Well, you see, I don't care. It does a fantastic job cleaning and rinsing, so it can have as much water as it wants.

    Avocado Maytag set

Hmmm I'm a little rusty but I think those are 606's. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Filter Flo Washer in Ohio

Sure thing! Fortunately, it appears it can be shipped to me. I just don't have a facebook account so I have to buy this through a relative. Hopefully I'll have it by the end of the month!

    Filter Flo Washer in Ohio

I am planning on buying it Yes I saw this earlier today, and I'm going to try to get it this weekend. I know it's first come first serve, but I really hope nobody swipes this from me.

What brand new Top Loader Washer do you recommend?

Mayag Commercial 575 In many ways, the 575 will actually do a better job cleaning than the TC5 because of the dual action agitator. I'm also fairly certain the 575 also has a larger capacity than the TC5. On top of that, the 575 also has a much higher spin speed than the TC5 so you will save...

What brand new Top Loader Washer do you recommend?

Maytag-branded direct drives Those Maytag Centennials were decent, but afaik they don't have a water level selector, which is why I'd suggest a WP/KM direct drive over them.

What brand new Top Loader Washer do you recommend?

If you must have something brand new, go with the Speed Queen TC5. Nothing on the market right now can even compete with Speed Queen's build quality and dependability, plus it is the only machine to still have a tried and true transmission. However, it costs $1000. If that is too much money for...

    Maytag helical or orbital transmission?

The orbital tranny with Powerflex was an awful washer. Respectfully, I completely disagree with this. My '94 Dependable Care has been my daily driver my entire life, and it has always done a fantastic job, and has never twisted anything up in a rope. The only washer I have that has ever done...

How much is an A412 worth?

    Well dang, that's disappointing.

How much is an A412 worth?

So my friends have what I assume is a Maytag A412 in their basement that I hope to try to acquire soon. My goal with it is to refurbish and sell it, but my concern is that with it being a BOL model I may not be able to sell it for a lot, even if I can get it to showroom condition. So my...

First and second generation HE washer performance tests.

Direct drives use too much water I don't know how anyone could think that. Direct drives, if using the correct load size, use the perfect amount of water required to get the job done right and in a timely manner. The only thing good about newer he toploaders is the spin speed, but the high...

    Older Speed Queen Pair

That is a nice looking set, but $1000+ seems like a bit much.

Deciding on 3 of my washers: Kenmore, Hotpoint, Frigidaire

Keep the Kenmore for sure. It has by far the highest build quality, dependability, and performance of the three, plus it has more features. If you had to get rid of one, the easy choice is the Frigidaire.

    Maytag helical or orbital transmission?

Orbitals made their debut in Aug of '89 Oh ok. I'm not very familiar with the black control panel Maytag's, but it looks to be around early to mid 80's if I had to guess. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to show you guys.

    Maytag helical or orbital transmission?

Well I might be acquiring an 80's Fabric-Matic soon. No idea what year or what condition it's in atm. All I know is it's been sitting in the corner of the basement my friends are renting with a newer he machine hooked up to the only washing machine hookup there is and that it has the classic...
