    Plastic parts suck---

Hmmm..... I have a Whirlpool Duet that was built toward the end of 2009. My inlets are spaced pretty decently, although they are plastic. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Whirlpool make the Affinity?

    WHY IN GODS NAME....

Thanks guys... ...That's kinda of what I was thinking with the dissolving of the detergent, makes sense to me. And our tap water is ice cold after about 10 seconds of running through the lines. Most washes I use the Warm setting, and our clothes come out great (including whites w/o bleach)...

    WHY IN GODS NAME....

....does my new Whirlpool Duet F/L use hot and cold water when I put the temp selector on just cold? I used the Delicate cycle for the very first time today, and you can either use Cold or Warm for the wash cycle and a spin speed of Low ONLY. What I noticed was how it was letting in both hot...

Considering selling my Whirlpool Duet HT

well... My Duet has holes in the fins. Its called the "water inject" system. I've watched it, and it does well. Although I feel it could use more holes.

Hmmmm..... Turn the valve for the hot water inlet down half way and leave the cold on the whole way?

How to indentify a "good" modern Maytag

This is easy enough..... I think any helical Maytag was dependable. It wasn't until Whirlpool took over and converted Maytag to DD that things really went downhill. Correct me if I'm wrong anyone. Aaron

    Should I do this?

Well, I've had my Whirlpool Duet FL for a couple months now and I just received a letter from the Whirlpool Company offering me an extended warranty. It's currently covered under just a one year warranty. Pricing: One year extended- $100.65 or 3 payments of $35.56 Two year extended-...

    Spider Arm woes....

I was just sitting here, and thought..."why don't these manufacturers keep the aluminum arm, but before installing them...coat them with some sort of plastic?" I would think this would solve the failure of the spider arm on alot of the FL's. Hmmm....either that or they want it to fail in 5...

So I took the top off my Duet today....

Another pic... On the back side....

So I took the top off my Duet today....

Was just curious to what was inside...was kinda surprised to see these things that contour to the top of the plastic tub and are bolted down to it. They are what I can only describe as like a light weight cement? What are these used for? Balancing? Also notice the control board on the left...

    Unbalanced spins, vibrations...etc.

I agree Surgilator.... So many Americans just want something to bitch about. They never read the manual that comes with their shiny new FL, and I think alot of times they are not installed correctly. I mean Whirlpool had to come up with an idea to make the power cord useless until the 4...

    The "new" Aberdeen Farm?

About that FL... That HE3 sure does stick out! I guarantee you it has failed from either a broken spider or bad circuit board....what a shame. That machine on the left looks fairly new also. Sure looks like a Whirlpool product to me...probly a broken motor coupler. Aaron
