    Off topic question...

So my girlfriend and I rent our place and when we moved in the house came with a matching fridge and gas stove. The brand is Americana. I've never heard of this brand. Anybody have any experience with this brand? Who builds them? Their both BOL and the fridge is on the chintzy side. IE: very...

    This is ridiculous

well.... You also need to consider the amount of abuse these things take! Being in a laundromat is no easy task for any machine. Aaron

    From What I Understand...

very true... I do take care of my machine...and everything that I own. I'm pretty anal about preventative maintenance on just about everything...lol. And BTW, my mom has never owned one Maytag...she's ALWAYS had Whirlpool/Kenmore products. She had her old belt drive Kenmore washer and Kenmore...

    From What I Understand...

ok... Yeah, I knew about the bearings. But from what I've read, you couldn't buy just the spider assembly on earlier models, you had to buy the whole tub. I'm hoping for AT LEAST 6-7 yrs on the bearings. We do a load of laundry about every other day, so its not being used that much...until...

    From What I Understand...

when my spider arm rots and breaks into pieces in 5 or so years on my new Duet, I will be able to buy just the spider, and not the whole tub assembly. Unless I'm looking at the diagram wrong? Here's a link to Sears Parts Direct...

    Affresh is a joke....

Tang it is! I guess I'll be giving this a shot! How much should I use when I go to "wash" the washer? Aaron

    Affresh is a joke....

thanks guys... My washer and dryer are also in the basement. Its pretty dry down there right now...but I know when summer comes along...it will be very damp. Maybe I should invest into a dehumidifier. I'm just trying to avoid the issue before it begins. I'm not having any mold/mildew/odor...

considering buying a new Speed Queen washer

oh yes they are.... Our water rates have been going up lately also. Our meter fee used to be $1.00/month and now its been raised to $18.00/month. That's $216.00 a YEAR for a meter fee...quite a jump from the old $12.00 year. Plus the actual water rate has risen to, I don't know how much more...

9 year old (2001) model He3t/water usage. then vs now

Duet rinsing.... This is what my new Duet does...after the main wash it drains and spins a little bit, it fills and rinses for a few minutes, then drains and rinses again and releases the fabric softener. Then you always have the optional Extra Rinse. So far I've haven't had to use the Extra...

    Affresh is a joke....

$8.99 for 3 tablets!? Has anyone come up with a better alternative for this stuff? It seems to me that Oxi-Clean would probably do the same thing. Or maybe use Oxi-Clean and Bleach? I've decided to run the "Clean Washer with Affresh" cycle every 2 weeks to just prevent any mold, mildew, or odor...

Miele Spiders - What are they made of?

well.... I don't think it would be very "efficient" to use just hot water. Also, it just wouldn't be possible with all different fabrics. Aaron

    Help! Miele W4840 error code

well.... From what I've gather...a F63 code on a Miele washer means "water intake fault". I would check the water supply hoses and screens inside the hoses. If everything seems clear, I would think that you have a faulty intake water valve on the washer. Aaron

considering buying a new Speed Queen washer

hmmm.... I've put some pretty hard stains through my new front loader....and EVERYTHING has come out clean. And my washer spins at 1200 RPM's :P And having your clothes come out of the dryer in just 25 minutes ROCKS! Don't be hatin'!

    Check this out.

I think its way to high also... And this guy made an emphasis to announce he lowered the price! LOL! I would hope so, considering you can get a brand new Amana at Home Depot right now for $259 bucks! If it were maybe $50 bucks...I might jump on it! I think I might shoot him an e-mail about...

cool... Nice machine. I really wish I would have done some more research before buying my FL. That price is just amazing for a new washer. Oh well :(

    BD Kenmore Pair in Atlanta

A question... On these earlier DD machines, I never really heard a whole lot of problems with the motor coupler breaking. Did they use a beefier coupler back then? I've seen alot of these newer ones breaking their coupler's within months of regular use. Aaron

New Kenmore with Smart Motion Technology

American FL... I to am very leery of the quality of new American FL's. I bought a Whirlpool Duet anyways. Only thing that I REALLY wish it had was the Digital time remaining screen. So when the CCU does go (which I'm sure it will eventually), I could see the F code and diagnose it myself...

    The Admiralpool Arrives Today

According to the label... According to the label on the inside of the door on my new FL Duet WFW9150WW it was made in Mexico! Does the Whirlpool company assemble any appliances in the U.S. anymore? Aaron
