    Consumer Reports Rates Dishwashing liquids/foam.

I do not have these liquids anymore! I use Soda instead and that is the best to me! With very fatty things I use a bit soap with it (soft-soap or bar-soap is equally good). Ralf

What Are the Directions for Using a Culinare French Press Coffee Maker?

Germn coffee Hi Jason! You want to know how we prepare our coffee? No prob...!! The oldest way was: put finely ground coffee into a coffee pot, pour half a cup of boiling water onto it, wait a minute and then fill up to the top. Stir, wait a few minutes and pour through a fine sieve into the...

    British Detergents

Hi Launderesse Yes, that's what I often found on dark/black items: white streaks and smear from the Zeolites, which is the reason why we switched to liquid detergents for coloureds and blacks (ARIEL Liquid with fibre guard - what ever that might be...?) and also avoid PERWOLL Powder but use the...

being religious Hi Steve and Seamus! Before I tell you what the tree comes from - something about religion and me... I meanwhile have become a total atheist and once was a strict catholic (how could I ever be so silly and naiv?) as brought up in a stricly catholic family.... But I like...

    British Detergents

btw Forgot to say.... I prefer English PERSIL but German ARIEL! ARIEL in Germany is different than in GB and slightly better than the German PERSIL; but in the UK it's the other way round as to me! Ralf

    British Detergents

Zeolite Sorry, but zeolite is not a filler - it is the nowaday's water softening agent that substitutes the former phosphates -German compact powders contain about 30% of it in it! Otherwise you have to buy an extra water-softener like Calgon or equivalent! We had never saw-dust in detergents...

    Christmas tree thread !

Hi Rapunzel and all of you! Well, first I have to say: What wonderful trees you have!!! Yes, Rapunzel, Sinterklaas is in Germany the 6th December and is called "Sankt Nikolaus Tag" or just "Nikolaus-Tag" when people (adults and children) put a boot outside the entrance door to get some...

What Are the Directions for Using a Culinare French Press Coffee Maker?

French Coffee Maker Sorry, to say so, but they do not make a very good and delicious coffee - we own one but use it only for herbal teas - that works really perfectly! French do not know how to make a really good coffee - aks Germans, Swiss, Austrian or Italians - they know how to make good...

    Christmas tree thread !

real tree I've NEVER in my life had an artificial tree and will resist to get one as long as I live! We use to have a "Nordmann-Tanne" (abies normanniania) or "Nobilis-Tanne" (abies procera) and always have real candles in it together with small electric lamps for those times when we are not...

    Christmas tree thread !

Theo Yes - of course the presents all come from the christmas child who drives along in a sledge with Knight Rupert, the helper of Santa Claus, and it walks from house to house and puts the presents onto the present-table in the X-mas chamber (usually the living-room though) for everybody - or...

    Christmas tree thread !

Theo / Mielabor Hi Theo - I do agree with you so much - in Germany we used to start with X-mas deco not until the Advent-time has started (first of the Advent-Sundays or 1st December, depending which one comes earlier) and my mate and I refused to switch on the electric light chains on the...

    Oil

bearings Should be a problem with the bearings / washers that seal the oil-bath gear-box against outside... I guess. We had the same problems / systems in our old MIELE wringer-washers from the Fifties, too. Ralf from Germany

    Loading a Front Loader?

Tide with bleach We brought a package of it from the States last year but we cannot use it in our FL at all; it foams like hell! The machine will overgo after a while. Also we can't use it anyway as we are allergic to the perfume as I had said already a while ago here in the forum and do not...
