Picked up my first old Maytag wringer washer!

Thanks!! Hey Jeff I am down by Dayton. Not super far from Mansfield really. I put up picts of where I think I'm missing clips on the pins that hold top of wringer on and the plug that has a broken ear on it where the gearbox is for wringer. Do you have an on/off plate that isn't chewed up...

Picked up my first old Maytag wringer washer!

I wanted to see if you guys can help me date this thing. It's newer than the other wringer washer I tried to get ( the one that was sold from under me) but it was 4 mins away, 40 bucks, and works ( haven't tried yet to confirm). I'll need to weld a crack on the lid, and a corrosion hole in...

Yep exactly Yep I know how it goes. I used to manage an antique store. I've been into antiques, old cars and such for a long long time. I actually have about 12 old fridges, soda machines, freezers, 4 old stoves, 3 dishwashers , and 1 wringer washer. What would of happened if I beat the other...

    Old Maytag wringer washer info

Ugh nevermind :( After striking up a deal and a time to pick up today..seller sends me a message early in the morning and says there is a lot of interest in the machine and whoever gets her first gets it. That is bad business, esp since this was at an antique shop 50 mins from me. I didn't...

Email sent I sent you an email. I really appreciate the help guys! The really interesting thing is the silver knobs that turn the pump on and turn the agitator on are silver plastic..not metal. Yeah I was surprised at seeing the wood but hey it works lol. A lot of the paint on the feeder tray...

Thank you I appreciate it! I've been messing with old fridges for a bit now and I'm getting into more old appliances. I'll have to start asking about old 1960s dishwashers soon :) I'll get better pictures once I get it home!!

    Old Maytag wringer washer info

Awesome I am kind of a purist lol so I wouldn't try to convert it. I was able to buy the washer for 20 bucks and could not pass that up. Once I get it home I'll see what parts I'll need. Hopefully I can find a gas one sometime. I just wanted one to use in my shop to wash my car working...

    Old Maytag wringer washer info

Kind of new to the washer gig. Been looking for a gas powered Maytag wringer washer to restore that isn't super expensive..but came across this online close to me. Any idea what model it is , age, or what a decent price would be? It would be neat to get going again. Looks like a drain hose and...

Easy wringer washer model 101-swp help

More pictures If you need more let me know. Was surprised to see that inner part of the wringer mechanism was made of wood. Any idea what the round silver grommet is for on top of the wringer? Didn't know if it was just a vent or held something in there. Be great to find a lid knob. I'd like...

Easy wringer washer model 101-swp help

I'll get more picts I didn't think it was that old! I got it at an estate sale a friend was running and it was his mom's..he let me have it for 20 bucks. The decal was pretty much gone so I had no idea what it said. I used a 3/4 in" radiator hose and slid a piece the next size down into it. 1...

Seldom seen? It was hard to find anything about this washer I am not sure when it was made either I just suspect it's from the 60s before they went belly up. It is fun to wash clothes in though.

Easy wringer washer model 101-swp help

Fixed I found some heater hose in my shop and slid one inside of the other to stiffen it up. After some work getting the motor out and getting things back together...my home-made piece worked!! I even oiled the motor while I had it out. It was not too bad of a job but hopefully my piece lasts a...

Yep ! I actually spotted that on eBay too. It looks exactly what I had... Except still in one piece. I may buy it to use as a reference piece. It just looks like a thick walked rubber hose. I'd like to regrease and oil the washer too. There must not be many of these around since it's hard to...

Easy wringer washer model 101-swp help

Hello everyone.I have this easy wringer washer I bought a few years ago and used it for the first time tonight. It worked great until the agitator stopped. Upon closer inspection I saw that the rubber coupler from motor to transmission fell apart ( at least I washed one load). What have you guys...
