    Cold Water Wash

What is the real motive behind this cold water push ? Maybe the lack of porcelain tops and lids on washers will cause these parts to rust with all the steam hot water gives off ? We didn't figure anything new about cold water that wasn't known when Whirlpool started releasing their first...

2018 speed queen TL washers revisited

Good to know joeypete. I was also in an appliance store last Thursday, the same place I purchased the 432 over 4 yrs. ago. I saw one model of Speed Queen and it was the currently produced 432 . I didn't stick around to ask questions though. The sales guy was on the phone so I left.

    Cold Water Wash

This is not even funny. When did the chemistry of dirt and sweat change that cold water wash is all that's needed now ? What is WP doing ? There are folks on this site who work for WP. Do they have any influence at all over there? Whirlpool looks determined they will get us off of top loaders...

Stopped into a Sears today...found out that WHIRLPOOL is being dropped there!

This is what gets me about all this modern day online shopping. Even though it is incredibly convenient, I am still of the generation that wants to actually go to the store and physically see and touch and experience what I am buying. "kicking the tires" so to speak. What is about life that...

    2018 Speed Queen topload models

I hope they have a winner with this new machine what ever it may be. I really hope they don't screw their top load loyalists over completely. More people buy the top loader than their fl washers so I hope we will have something that isn't too much of a compromise. I guess we will know soon enough.

It would be nice if Whirlpool would cut it's excess baggage. They have too many nameplates and all basically the same thing. Maybe scale down to just 4 nameplates . Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag and JennAir .Maybe cut JennAir and position KA as the ultra premium kitchen appliances. Just a thought

What would many here say . After Maytag, who would be the most dependable long lived washers ?

Most common brand of vintage washing machines

I saw mostly Kenmores in the 70s when I was a kid. Probably followed by GE and Hotpoint. Saw several Norge and Norge made machines also. Only saw a few Whirlpools but I would say overall Kenmore was king.

    Sucker for Coppertone

This agitator reminds me of the Kenmore bakelight straight vanes. Steroidal to say the least. I imagine these Norges had to be Heavy Duty with those huge agitator fins.

Stopped into a Sears today...found out that WHIRLPOOL is being dropped there!

I was in Sears last night and I noticed that WP is supplying some of their higher end cooking again. I noticed a new Kenmore downdraft slide in gas range that looked like current KA models. Will be interesting to see if WP starts supplying any of their FS gas or electric ranges again. In all...

Stopped into a Sears today...found out that WHIRLPOOL is being dropped there!

Actually Appnut, Whirlpool is making some of their high end cooking appliances again. I was in a Sears last night and saw a new downdraft slide in gas range that looks like the current KA ranges. WP is still making their top loaders but I don't think any of their fl washers. They are still...

Didn't the calypso get excellent cleaning reviews on their first test by consumer reports ? The best they ever had ? I thought I remember reading something close to that

There was an appliance dealer i read on this site some years ago that had a 1950 Whirlpool automatic washer that had an aluminum surgilator in it. So they were available at the start of Whirlpools first autos.

Thanks for the correction John. Did the first DD oasis/cabrio washers use a lot more water ? I forget now whether they did or not. I know the agitator ones did.
