    FiestaWare Help?

I've also used Soft Scrub with bleach; that's done the trick in getting spoon marks and stains out of coffee mugs.

I've seen that "sync burner" thing somewhere before.....

    Hot pot staining

For the Kenmore - try swirling a bit of plain white vinegar around in it; or perhaps wiping it out with vinegar on a paper towel. My grandmother used to do that with her stainless cookware to get rid of water spots.

    Speakman Anystream Carries the day

"Washers are made of long-wearing composition of rubber and asbestos fibre." Yikes! How about an action shot of the thing pumping water? ;-)

A new range came home today.

That's lovely Sam! Yellow is such a happy color for a range! It will look lovely in your kitchen, with those floors and new counter tops! The service manuals are up on Automatice.org; they might help you determine the year. The letter in the model number also will tell you, I'm sure those...

    Delicious, easy pasta salad recipe

We visited Greg a few weekends ago, and his mom popped over for a visit.  We were sitting there chatting and somehow, I don't exactly recall, she spurted out a pasta salad recipe that sounded incredibly easy.  So I remembered the ingredients and made it on Sunday night.  It turned out to be...

It was supposed to be a rainy day here but the sun just came back!

The styling of that fridge is so over the top - I'm not sure that I've ever really seen or really paid much attention to the styling of the '59 model year fridges. It's definitely taking me some getting used to, as it's such a departure from what a fridge generally looks like. Frigidaire sure...

It was supposed to be a rainy day here but the sun just came back!

Fabulous finds! Can't wait to see more detailed pictures of the fridge and range! Does the clock work on the range? ;-) I'd hold off and try to find a replacement glass - that's such a cute matched set, it would be a shame to part it out.

It was supposed to be a rainy day here but the sun just came back!

Yay Frigidaire! Well, I'll just take a stab in the dark... Sunny yellow '59 Frigidaire refrigerator, as well as a sunny yellow 30" '59 Frigidaire range with French doors. Also, I recognize that "New lacework styling - so feminine for your kitchen!"

    Chemex coffee maker

Interestingly the Dial A Brew that Greg got has a switch on it just like the one in the above picture. I've been watching eBay for another like his, and have yet to see one. None of them have switches. Perhaps they added the switch for just a short time? Seems silly that they wouldn't have...

    Chemex coffee maker

Yay Chemex!!!! The Chemex really does deliver a smooth and strong cup of coffee. Jon Charles turned me on to them; I too, love their simple elegant design. My understanding is that the Chemex is technically supposed to be a pour-over brew. Measure your water to ground coffee, using the...

It's a good weekend for a new (to us) Frigidaire Range!

Yes, Cory!! Operational clocks and CookMasters for everyone!!!! What year is yours; 60? 61? You should post a full-on picture, too! Yay Frigidaires! Mark- your range is lovely thanks for the pictures! I wanna see that speed-heat operate sometime!

It's a good weekend for a new (to us) Frigidaire Range!

Yes Mark!! Get it fixed!! You will be so glad you did! They're fabulous to work with! Greg has said before - even if broken, a clock is still correct twice a day. :-) You should take some more pictures of your range, I'm interested to see it full-on!

It's a good weekend for a new (to us) Frigidaire Range!

Yes, it's a Dial-A-Brew! I can't take credit though, Jon Charles turned both me and Greg on to this whole Chemex world, including the Norelco. The Dial A Brew works well, only up to about 8 cups though (we have a 10-cup Chemex). When I fill it to do a full 10, the Norelco pumps a bit too much...

It's a good weekend for a new (to us) Frigidaire Range!

Total success! Three mornings in a row now, we've awoken to the smell of coffee, automatically brewing, thanks to the freshly repaired Frigidaire Clock/CookMaster and the 'Auto' outlet. Monday was Sunbeam CoffeeMaster, yesterday and today were Chemex via Norelco. The best part of waking up....

It's a good weekend for a new (to us) Frigidaire Range!

Update! The clock was not working on this range, well, it was but barely. The second hand turned, but the hour and minute hands did not turn. The minute timer also worked. We took it out and fiddled around with it, and surmised that there was a problem somewhere within the gearing. On Phil's...

100 year old central vacuum system

Central Cleaning at its finest! Looks like attachments and hoses are still readily available! Here's a link to the PDF of the Attachment catalog, complete with hoses, tools, and inlet valves! And it looks like they still make that exact same hose holder that you found, Andy! I'll have to dig...

It's a good weekend for a new (to us) Frigidaire Range!

Here she is with all of her accessories... We searched the house high and low for these, I'm pretty sure we found everything. There may have been some inserts for the deep well, but we can live without those for now. We also didn't find the small broiler pan.. An original Frigidaire one would...
