What do I need to know

That kitchen is TO DIE FOR. I agree, you should get as much as you can out of that kitchen. Good luck on your endeavors! Cory, I think those knobs on the oven would indicate 1955; they're different than what's on our 1956 range, which has the stamped knobs.

    Selling a Eureka Canister Vacuum

There wasn't any interest in this on VacuumLand, so I thought I'd see if anyone on AW needs a new vacuum. :) I'm selling a nice Eureka Roto-Matic canister from about 1989/1990, if I had to guess. Maybe slightly earlier. Very nice shape overall, have had it for about 10 years, doesn't get used...

'60s GE Combo Fridge Opinions, Information

Look at the proximity of the stove to the fridge, you can barely see it in the left of some of the pictures. It could just be general kitchen grime and grease. Craigslist generally downgrades the quality of the pictures, so they could just be grainy and hard to tell. I'd say to take a look at...

Vintage Frigidaire imperial refrigerator 1964 vintage antique retro - $150 (metro detroit)

Ughhhhh.. With the freezer door pedal. That looks really, really pretty... I hope someone can save it and give it a good home. If it opened the other way, I'd sure be tempted to drive to Detroit this weekend. :-)

    A real Southern recipe

The cake was absolutely delicious! Very dense and most... Next time I might try baking in two round pans and making a layer cake, though. I don't like cake that's too sweet, and this has just the right amount of sweet. The cream cheese and lemon in the frosting really compliment the flavor of...

    A real Southern recipe

We made this cake last night in our Hamilton Beach mixer, let it cool overnight, and just made the frosting in a Kenmore mixer. Looks absolutely delicious, going to serve it tonight. Can't wait!!

Well, Terry - I hope you are quite pleased with yourself...

I was going through some photos a few weeks ago and found this photo from when we visited Terry in February of 2008. I took a picture of part of his "stash"...

Well, Terry - I hope you are quite pleased with yourself...

Alas.... It wasn't a coffee pot that we got from Terry's collection after he passed, so I pulled this one down off of the shelf in his honor. Not a day goes by that we don't think of him. You can be sure.

When life keeps kicking you below the belt... Go thrifting!

I had that exact Maytag cordless iron. I got it when I worked at the Hoover store, when Maytag imposed them on us to sell, along with the Jenn-Air Attrezzi blenders and mixers. They didn't sell very well and were problematic. I loved it, used it for about a year and a half, then one day it...
