    Ozone Laundry Systems

Someone here will know about this better than me, but I recall that Mom's original Kenmore dryer had a black light bulb inside the drum. There was something about it that supposedly killed germs when it was on. Maybe the UV light created ozone? In our household this feature was considered to be...

Battery Is the black box next to it a battery?

    I'm disgusted

I'm more of a 1950s-style homemaker. Unless it is a pot-luck style dinner with guests bringing dishes, and thus it is necessary for them to be in the kitchen to do final prep on their dishes, I prefer to be alone and do everything myself. It is distracting for me to feel like I need to interact...

    Wisk Deep Clean

A couple of years ago I tried Wisk and found it to be too sudsy in the front loader. However, I purchased another bottle in the last month, and they seem to have licked the suds problem. At least, in our washer with our water, it now works well.

1965 Frigidaire Imperial Washer and Dryer.

That set pretty much checks all of the check boxes! Pretty color? Check. Matched set? Check. Lovely design? Check. Good condition? Check. Lots of buttons and knobs? Check.   And on and on....

    Amazon Prime Pantry: first impressions

We were just discussing this new service this evening. I agree that if the product pricing is competitive, a $6 delivery charge for a "large box" of stuff seems reasonable, given time and transportation costs of regular shopping.   There are certain stores I shop at because they are the only...

I wonder if you can be sure if it's Westinghouse?

Console stereo It's a beautiful cabinet; it looks like walnut.

    Old phones

I was reading somewhere about how copper telephone lines may be eliminated over the next 10-15 years. It is apparently now cheaper for phone companies to switch your service to wireless than maintain the old lines.

New vintage Kenmore dishwasher and range

What model year would this dishwasher be? 1976 or 1977 perhaps?   It's got the sliding door to cover the buttons, but I believe the upper-range models had more buttons than this one does.

Tide Liquid being diluted with more water, price increased gradually by 13%

Trying to trick the consumer is never a smart move. Maybe you get away with it for awhile. If the value is no longer there, the consumer will eventually figure it out and switch brands.

New vintage Kenmore dishwasher and range

If I'm understanding the Craigslist ad correctly, everything for sale here is new and unused. The dishwasher is out of the box, but otherwise looks new.   http://stjoseph.craigslist.org/app/4419589206.html

Mr Draper, your General Electric Frost Guard Refrigerator is here...

Ice Cream Well, Louie, if this General Electric refrigerator's freezer can hold all of the ice cream that Betty required during her "Big Betty" days, it should be of adequate size for most households.   Certainly we know that the refrigerator does a good job of keeping whipped-cream-in-a-can...

Mr Draper, your General Electric Frost Guard Refrigerator is here...

Sharp-looking fridge; I like the chrome trim around the doors. Perhaps it was designed that way to accept optional door panels?
