New Maytag Centennial Belt Drive Washer

What's everyone in washer land i just got a brand new Maytag Centennial top load belt drive washer.
A little story as to why I purchased a new machine, in the past 4 months I have gone through 5 used washers, and this last straw was IT for me, so after the whirlpool portable died Monday I went out and naught a new one, I'm doing my first load in it as I'm typing this out, and boy is she quiet, video soon to come, I like how I control the water level and water temp and not the machine, I don't need electronics telling me how to do laundry. Has anybody had one of these machines or currently own one I'd love to hear comments on yours, and maybe a video or two, I'll update once the washer is done.

Update

Ok so I'm liking this washer a lot, it seems to clean very well and roll the load over effortlessly, the only thing I will have to get used to is when set on the power wash cycle and extra rinse, it take just over an hour to complete the cycle. Other than that I am impressed, and I'm a hard one to impress when it come to washers.

Did the washer fill to the top of the tub on its own, or did you add water? I haven't seen a machine fill that full on its own in ages. Well, my Speed Queen does, but that's only because the dealer raised the water level for me. That's a handsome-looking console; a nice change from all-white plastic.

Speaking of SQ....your screen name has Speed Queen in it. Is there a reason you decided to choose Maytag over SQ? Just curious.

The machine filled to the top of the tub on it's own on the super setting, and I did not add a drop of water. And I love speed queen washers, unfortunately the closest dealer is 190 miles away, as this is a maytag whirlpool town, we have a manufacturing plant here as well, that's the only reason why choose a whirltag.

I hope I get years of use out of her.

I would like to say that I was the FIRST ...............

to start a thread about this washer a while back!!!!! I am glad to see that the machine fills to the top row of holes, love love love the console, and the soil switch, aka, new timer, and I wish you many years of good quality performance, if my SQ was not available, I would have bought this washer!

I think I remember that thread. But yes I like the console a lot, and i am glad it fills full of water and mine doesn't do that stupid load sensing crap, it starts to fill when I push start.

Speed_Queen 75,  questions please.  I see  you had selected "Power wash".  If  "normal" was selected does it do the low water level routine?  Do you get full tubs of rinse water?  Is the hot water controlled, or water heater Hot?  After reading the "detergent pod" thread, I wondered if the instructions address the need more for more detergent with more water?  I am happy to see Water again.  I have my old Maytag,  Also a newer Admiral ( last of the coupler drives).  The  Admiral is stingy with rinse water.  Thank You and I wish you the best of luck with your new Maytag.

actually two....is it a porcelain top and lid, and when you select 2 rinses with fabric softener, are they both deep fill rinses?

The wash tub is porcelain indeed, and on the power wash Norman and regular cycles you do get water for the selected leave setting, so if you set wash to super you get a full tub of water for rinse, I haven't used the other settings yet so I can't really say for certain about those. Now when it comes to water temp hot is water heater hot from what I can tell. But I do enjoy this washer my clothes have been very clean so far I am impressed.

Love this washer!

I have the Whirlpool equivalent. It also fills to the top on the Super level, and the wash action is great with rollover and is very gentle in my opinion with the wide slow arc. I will say that if you want a full deep rinse, ALWAYS select the fabric softener option. Without, it will just do a short spray rinse, and trust me, that does nothing. If I ever need a second rinse, which is rarely considering how well it does with just one deep rinse, I just set it to Rinse & Spin and let it go. Here's the link to the thread about mine:

It is a porcelain wash tub and porcelain over steel coated lid and yes both are deep fill rinses with the with fabric softener.

Thanks for the additional info.  I am glad to hear about the abundant rinse water.  Most any adult that pays water and utility bills can figure out  what machine is best for them at their current address.  Thanks again.

You are quite welcome my friend, I have convinced my boyfriend to buy a top loader after the nightmere he had with a front load, so off to sears we went today and he purchased a Kenmore top load with the triple flex agitator. I can't wait to see it in action, I'll post pics as so as he gets it delivered.

The Kenmore vs. Maytag

It is essentially the same washer except for the triple action agitator which moves up and down as the auger twists the load down to the bottom of the tub and the fact that you have a soil selector switch, which I believe theirs is on the dial...I like the styling of the Maytag better...more pictures of your washer and his in action please.
