When Is A Chicken Not A Chicken? When it's a City Chicken!

@ Lawrence/Maytagbear "Kevin is an established member of AutomaticWasher.org, and you are not" Have I to consider myself a "non established member" and hence less entitled to (politely) express my opinion? Or am I just a second-class member? Am I entitled to human rights? Have I to assume...

What Do We Think Of Asko

Asko PCBs If I remember correctly, Merloni (Antonio, not Hotpoint-Indesit) forced Asko to buy electronic controls from the group's supplier, which was at least partially owned by Merloni. The agreements were unbelievably favourable to that supplier, and the quality was so poor that the...

Indesit dishwasher ls12 good or bad?

An old friend In my family in Italy we've had three dishwashers like that in a row (we were a quite large family). In the years, the aesthetic has changed: the older ones where chrome, the brown one like that in your picture is the latest series. It is a very old concept, indeed, I would say a...

Whirlpool FL washers accumulate mold, class action lawsuit says

A doubt... I wonder if there is any connection between the fact that only in USA front-loading washing machines accumulate mould and the fact that only in UK enzyme detergents cause allergies. Just a doubt...

Front loader with COLD and HOT fill

Why do you have four different bills, dj-gabriele? Just curious, but how do you pay your utilities? I mean: methane + fixed costs + hot water (shouldn't this be included in the methane bills?) + etc. How does that work?

    Dyson vs Miele vacuum cleaner

Allergy? What allergy? "Cleaning out a container of a bagless is a big no no for people with dustmite allergies." I can't figure out how you could even think such an absurd idea, foraloysius: don't you know that "Dyson uprights and cylinders are approved by the British Allergy Foundation"...

    Dizolve laundry sheets.

Urban myths are hard to die "[...] all Dizolve sheets are non-biological for a more natural wash that is kinder to your skin." Sadly, it seems almost impossible to finally get rid of this absurd urban myth...

why 10kg loads/ big capacity washers. this is my answer

Here in Europe washing machines are... enthusiastic I agree with you, qualin, but I am afraid that the marketing people here smoke strange stuff when it comes to washing machines capacity. The matter has already been discussed here on Automaticwasher: the rated weight capacity is pure fantasy...

why 10kg loads/ big capacity washers. this is my answer

Habits A duvet cover of mine weights 2.4 kg. I strip the bed once a week. I wash duvet covers every three weeks. That's why I need the 63 litres drum of a 8 kg washing machine. And no, I don't want to run the washing machine every day.

To pre-rinse dishes or not to pre-rinse...

Enzymes and glass jerrod6: "The enzymes combined with hot water may damage your glasses". I am not sure at all that enzymes can damage glass. If I remember correctly, what damages glass in a dishwasher is the so-called "glass corrosion" caused by too soft hot water in the last rinse (which is...

To pre-rinse dishes or not to pre-rinse...

Manfred must be a bit confused... "If the enzymes in the detergent don't have food particles to feed on, they will eat away at your dishes and make them dull and ugly." Enzymes digesting dishes? What sort of enzymes does Manfred have in his detergent? Maybe he smoked those enzymes...
