Thank you Glenn. I thought it was 1948 for Whirlpool and thank you too DDFan92.I knew from this site that the first automatic Kenmore came out in 1947, but wasn't quite sure with Whirlpool themselves.
When I had the the Whirlpool 6620 I found an interesting combo on it. Doing a drain and spin plus selecting extra rinse would get you a high level rinse for over 5 minutes. I wish now I would have times it but that would make a great prewash cycle also.
What are the Koreans doing that their machines clean any better ? Even though all of these companies are global in this day and age. Speed Queen and Whirlpool are still US owned companies and have their headquarters here.
Yes Robert posted that video some years ago and many of us voted he use the surgilator for that test. Even though that Surgilator took longer it DID roll over that huge load of jeans for those 1957 and 1958 standard capacity machines.
The only pods I use are cascade pods and find they do great in the dishwasher. As for laundry it is only Tide regular powder or Tide/w bleach powder when I can get it.Tide is the ONLY powder left at my local ShopRite.
I remember that commercial back in 77-78. Maybe it was earlier? I was a kid then. Like the ratcheting of the original dual action, but we all know that that Kenmore was overloaded.
To think that in a couple of short years after this commercial the up and down action agitator would go bye bye...
Eddie that's good to know.Mine doesn't shake excessively but it is noticable. My first VMW machine back in 2011 shook. I've never known these VMW designs not to shake.
I have thrown some very large loads in this washer and it has handled them without a problem. Coming from my Speed Queen...
Eddie I agree wholeheartedly.I don't miss having a manual water level control. I have watched many loads and it is like having an old belt drive again. I don't like that these shake when spinning but then again they don't have the added weight of a traditional transmission. If it lasts me 5...
I have the Amana NTW4516FW3 that came with my new place and I was considering switching this out for the Maytag commercial washer but in the 2 months I have been here this Amnana performs very admirably and I am quite surprised by it's good performance.
The auto water level on Normal is hit or...
All I've ever used for long grain white rice is the 2 liquid to 1 dry method. Perfect rice Everytime.
I saw a cooking show some years ago with Sarah Moulton saying how she had a problem cooking rice ? A trained chef that worked for Julia Child had a hard time with rice ? What's the mystery ?
After having the 6620 I totally agree about not needing more water. The recirculation made sure everything was sopping wet no matter how large the load. I don't think I would have one now that I am living in a mobile..EXCUSE ME.AHEM...manufactured home. The one I had shook like mad but steadied...
So far I have been using the cascade pods and they work very well.I want to switch back to powder though when this stash runs out. I can load this thing up pretty well but I have to say my Whirlpool had better racking. Things were more securely in place it seemed. Though I have no real gripe...
Nice to hear. Unfortunately I had to let go of the powerclean, but I never had any rusting of the porcelain tub or of the racks.
It really only got used for holidays and when I made a lot of food during the weekends.
This Frigidaire came with the home and all the appliances are brand new...
