Any difference between tall tub and the super capacity models referenced on Whirlpool's web site?

Yeah, I was going to say why would the tall tubs perform differently than others in the model line? I didn't think they used any less water.

My Whirlpool portable does an excellent job of cleaning, the built in version is only $300.00. Whirlpool has always made a great dishwasher IMO.

Does anyone have any insite on any major differences between the 3.5 cu ft Frigidaire washers? I'm talking about the Affinitys, 2940s, and 2140s. From what I can gather by comparing the units on the web site there doesn't seem to be huge differences from each model, in fact the lower priced...

No, The 940 is the same one I bought in Sept of 2005. No visible changes anyway.

There has been a lot of discusiion about the center dail Maytags that were produced until about 1980. Then it was said that the machines after were still very good machines. When did things go bad? In other words what years differentiate the good the bad ...................and the ugly?

Sometimes I think some people forget that there are other cycles on machines besides normal. My Whirlpool has light, normal, heavy, and pots and pans. I don't prerinse and I usually use the heavy setting. This adds a prewash. Also people with newer Whirlpool products need to read their manuals...

Tomturbomatic: You are correct, we usually dry large loads, we hardly ever move the water level off extra large. The clothes are good and warm; and wet after 20 minutes. I usually use the automatic dry and yes the clothes are sometimes wetter coming out of the washer than with other brands. So...

That's is why I was venting about some of the issues with my machines. CR has had Kitchen Aid near the bottom of the list for a few years while Roper is always near the top, what gives? Repair people care to elaborate their experiences?
