Question For Those Who Still Iron.

It does look mighty stylishly serious sailing across the board like a regal sub conning tower at sea.

Question For Those Who Still Iron.

One of my favorite finds is the 1954 red Casco steam iron. I'd never seen one and love the engineering of the entire handle flipping up to fill the iron. You really have to let it cool down, though, to refill it. But as the advertisement claims it really does steam for 50 minutes and more.

Question For Those Who Still Iron.

Yup Charlie, the General Mills Tru-Heat - sponsored by Betty Crocker her own self - clicks frequently, with a clink, as the thermostat steadies the temperature. I've found the double pointed oval sole plate to be more useful than one might think. But I think the side prop fins that keep it above...

Question For Those Who Still Iron.

One can never have too many irons/toasters/vacuums/mixers/pe I have a few ready to press into service at any time and do use them in rotation but the Tfal Ultraglide Diffusion upper right is the daily driver mostly. My (some would say) quirky habit is to wear two double pocket cotten shirts...

Westy Mixer and Sunbeam coffee/tea pot

There are subtle differences between the Canadian model FC-2 or USA FM-81 made Westinghouses. Canadian ones are assembled with square-head bolts & screws where the USA ones use slot heads. Also the USA has a different shaped speed dial and the decal is applied across the front rather than on one...

Westy Mixer and Sunbeam coffee/tea pot

In a determined effort to get organized so I don't end up as poster bear for 'Hoarders' I built appliance towers in the Kitchen and culled the 'collection' down to the best examples. With this setup I can easily get at them and use them in rotation. Thus did Pete get the Westy Whale when I...

What your secret for a really good cup of coffee?

Coffee is a matter of taste by individual. No truthier truth than that and the taste I want - and get - is the memory of the coffee served at the Woolworth's Lunch counter in London when I was a lad and the Woolworths right here in Stratford in the 70s before it was all torn down for a parking...

*RIP* Sunbeam C50 "CoffeeMaster" Coffee Maker

Hello all. My name is Dave. I'm thrilled to know Petek over in Sarnia well, call him a fine friend and this is my first post to the Forum although I've been lurking and reading on the fringes for over a year. Joined the Forum a few weeks back but got snagged in the whole Server Glitch thing. I...
