Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Ah, but no need to praise me Chet. These machines were already in the house when I bought the place. I'm just lucky that the previous owners picked the right appliances. ;)

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Same here! - I've always kept my home landline. The cellphone came in handy when traveling too, but other than that, I didn't become addicted like so many are today.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

My KD-19 fills first, pauses, then heats prior to starting the first wash (prewash) with the SaniHeat light on. I can hear it sizzling in the water for about 10 minutes, then SWOOSH! the pump starts. The SaniHeat also starts at the final rinse too.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

This is the phone I used for 18 years until Verizon stopped 3G service. It cost me $109, and service of $10/month. Mainly used for work, now retired just like me.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

It take a while for the hot water at the sink, and the DW, To get hot, from the downstairs hot water heater. I'm merely bringing it up to the kitchen by rinsing, so that it's hotter for the DW to use. I've noticed a shorter "heat up time" for the DW heating element, because once its...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

It take a few moments for me to pre-rinse some stuck-on bits from the dishes. I use the hot water for that, and when I start the DW, it get its hot water faster, meaning less heating element time.

Are modern refrigerators really worth the upgrade?

To me, it sounds like another ploy to keep the greed funded.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

I'll agree to that! You can blame it on the conditioning and manipulation of society by the elites. They like to be disruptive and watch the masses struggle. It gives them something to talk about over drinks and their fabulous dinner parties.

Are modern refrigerators really worth the upgrade?

It's so sad that today's appliances are made with that idiotic WiFi crap. The already widespread addiction of clutching a smartphone and living by its APPS is pathetic. This is not normal for humans to be so attached to a device.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

And as I've always believed, Superficiality is a human trait and a weakness as well. It's been drummed into society's heads for ages. Pretty and sexy sells, boring doesn't.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

My mother used to carry on endlessly about things like water usage, electrical use, and heater thermostat settings, and having the fridge door open for more than a few seconds. She was a good mom, taught us valuable lessons and values, however that obsession with the things I just mentioned is...

    KitchenAid KDS-18 Los Angeles

And that's why I love my KD-19 too. Simple, basic, always squeaky-clean dishes.

What's the deal with microwaves rusting so fast?

Spatters eh? I use one of those dinner plate sized covers with vent slots designed for microwave cooking. The only thing that may get dirty is the revolving glass turntable.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

I rarely use my dishwasher, for a few items that I use for dinners, etc, I hand wash them. A bottle of Casacde Complete lasts me for almost a year.

What's the deal with microwaves rusting so fast?

My 2003 Sharp Carousel microwave doesn't have any rust in or on it. The paint coating is like new inside and out.

Frigidaire Dishwasher OrbitClean Spray Arm Issue

Too many appliances made these days all seem to have goofy designs that look like some high school kid dreamed it up. Overly complex controls, confusing cycles, weird mechanical assemblies, cheap plastic parts. What the hell kind of junk is consumers being handed these days?

Frigidaire Dishwasher OrbitClean Spray Arm Issue

You can have that goofy dishwasher and its piss-poor plastic orbital spray gizmo. I'd have tossed that stink'n thing out for garbage day pickup. I'll stick with my reliable old Kitchenaid with metal spray arms.
