3 classic vintage appliance ads- rare!

Great Ads What I find slightly amusing is that the Frigidaire looks rather large compared to the woman and child. I don't think refrigerators were this big or wide in 1948. Perhaps that's a motive to sell the product. I can recall late 50's ads for automobiles that make them appear a mile...

    for you Foodaramanistas...

How I LUST for this refrigerator! There's another Foodarama for sale in Kentucky that I stumbled upon the other day. I don't think it's the same one though. This 1956 model looks very complete. Juice containers, fruit basket, and butter and cheese trays. The shelves that are currently in...

    Tide/coupons

The only Tide product I use is the Stain Release. In the coupons, once in a while (actually quite often), there's a $3.00 off one for Stain Release. I've never seen a detergent coupon for more than $1. Just the Stain Release is more. ~Tim

Let's post our latest estate/tag sale finds.

I already started a separate thread, but for those who missed it, my latest find is a vintage television. Like many of the rest of you, I am an estate sale and thrift store junkie. I go as often as I can. 1968-70 RCA AccuColor 25" solid state television. With the danish-modern cabinet. Was...

    Kelvy Food A Rama

A 1955 model I agree that the price is steep (as it ALWAYS is). It's missing parts. It appears to have a couple food section shelves as seen in other pictures. One or two fixed shelf and one sliding lower shelf. Also the humidiplate is present as is one crisper drawer front and a few odds...

I bought a new television today

Thanks for the comments everyone. As far as year, I haven't looked at all the numbers on the back yet but 1968-70 sounds about right. frontaloadotmy - Yes, that's correct! 'No Matter What Sign You Are.' I thought I would pick something from around the same time as the TV. Yes this has the...

I bought a new television today

It's a COLOR television too! No more black and white. It's solid state. No more tubes to change. Fewer service calls to the house. RCA solid state COLOR set. 25 inch screen. Danish-modern cabinet. I estimate it to be early 70's. It was an estate sale find. For $10 I couldn't leave it...

    WHOA!!!

I agree that the Warhol look is too much. It would have been alot more tasteful if they changed out those drab granite counters, maybe added a colorful backsplash. Some fun door handles/knobs. Now, you could incorporate the Warhol look maybe with a framed print of say the soup can or...

    Extreme Couponing

I do use coupons on occasion. But, 80% of them are for products I rarely or never use. I only usually clip them if it's $1 or more savings on ONE item. For example: Tide Stain Release in the big bottle is normally $6 and some change. I often find and clip a $3 off coupon. That's a real...
