    The Little Red Kitchen

Looks good I went with a white and red color scheme as well. It sort of happened by accident. I found a vintage dinette I liked and I already had yardage of red vinyl, so I re-upholstered the chairs in the red. So one thing led to another. My cabinets are oak and the countertops speckly...

Marilyn Monroe House Up For Sale

It's a nice house, and it would be neat to know that it has a famous person attached to it. But my problem would be looky-loos wanting to see inside. I've always been a person to respect others privacy and I would expect the same. Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't think that way...

MCM drapes! What do you think?

MCM drapes! What do you think?

Hey kids, I was haunting my favorite antique store yesterday. I go there mainly for the two booths that sell Mid Century stuff. MCM seems really popular because it seems the booths are always changing. Some of the prices can get ridiculous, but people pay it, I guess. Anyway, I was on the...

What is in your Detergent arsenal...and how are you folding.

That's alot of laundry product.... I definitely don't have a reason to have all that. Mexican Ariel powder Tide Stain-Release (For pre-treat only) Cheap Sun-brand Liquid (for cleaning rags and old towels) Liquid chlorine bleach I don't use liquid fabric softener. I detest the aromas and I...

    Colored Bath Tissue

I know everyone remembers it! I very briefly remember it. As it was phasing out of popularity by the time I knew a difference. Anyway, since I want all things vintage (or vintage-style), I want some colored toilet tissue. The thought had never crossed my mind until today. I just now...

What's the deal with Can Openers

Sunbeam can opener I got this neat 60's style Sunbeam at an estate sale for $2! It works perfectly. The blade is nice and clean. No rust. I mostly got it for mom. She has trouble with manual openers. This one replaces a somewhat inferior performing Rival Can-O-Matic. Lookout! Big pic. ~Tim

It's like the kitchen was never used and only got dusted It looks like a museum display. Only missing the mannequins and plastic food. ~Tim

Vintage Appliances of Tucson, AZ: Refrigerators

I can tell you right now which fridge takes the $10,000 spot. It's the same refrigerator I've been hunting for with no luck: Kelvinator Foodarama. But seriously...it cost more than my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Probably weighs more too. ~Tim

How are you coping with the new dishwasher detergents?

I tried using the new formula Cascade with terrible results. Even in a KitchenAid Custom 21. I use commercial Cascade. I buy it from an industrial supplier. It still contains phosphates (for now) and I have a sneaking hunch it has some sort of bleach as well. Sparkling dishes every time. ~Tim

    Help! Frigidaire Flair parts needed

Update I think I may have found a thermostat. Instead of looking up Frigidaire, I looked up Robertshaw thermostats. The company that made the one out of the Flair. I found one that appears identical. Tim

    Help! Frigidaire Flair parts needed

I just keep rolling with the Flair threads....but it's important. I need parts....or resources for parts. Every parts distributor has discontinued anything for the Flair. I've searched the net and ebay for parts but come up empty-handed. Two things I know I will need are: Oven Thermostat...

Is there such a thing as 'vintage' Pyrex?

Nice pyrex! I have some bowls, but they don't match. I have a huge yellow one, a medium sized green, a brown with wheat on it, and a 'butterfly gold' patterned one with the spouts. (also a lid with the gold one) I do put my colored pyrex in the dishwasher and there appears to be no color...

    Well...here's my Frigidaire Flair

I haven't tested it. There's no cord or anything and I need to find out where a cord would be located. I'm thinking I might have a repair person check it out. If it's not too expensive.

    Well...here's my Frigidaire Flair

This is the 30" single oven model.

    Well...here's my Frigidaire Flair

It needs cleaned up.... but everything seems to be accounted for. I have all the knobs and it seems there was something wrong with the oven knob/thermostat because it's been removed and I found it sitting inside the top. It's a black device with a copper cable and sensor. I assume this goes...
