    washers of coronation street!

Number 13 Wasn't Hilda Ogden the first resident to have an automatic washer back in the 1970's? I remember Stan having a bright idea about taking in people's washing to make money but expecting Hilda to actually do the work! There was some line spoken by Elsie Tanner about Hilda washing...

    Dryer balls, thingies, whatever.

I have had a pair of these rattling around in my dryer for about 7 years and to be honest, I can't say they do anything but make a noise. I will give it a bit longer though lol!

    Another Kenwood !! :D

I have this machine and the coffee grinder, among MANY other attachements! My ONLY gripe is that the K beater and dough hook are shedding their non stick coating. I am going to get replacements like the ones my mother had.

    Electric Steamers/Steaming Food

Jubilee chicken..... is an updated version of Coronation Chicken for the 21st century - I still prefer the original creation personally but here are links to the recipes I used for both except I adapted them using whole chickens instead of breast meat only and I made enough for about 40 people...

    Electric Steamers/Steaming Food

I have had an electrical steamer for about 15 years and wouldn't cook vegetables any other way other than maybe roasting or stir frying. However, recently I bought a two tier stainless steel steamer off Ebay for £3.00, which I use on the hob and have to say that I prefer it to the electric ones...

    Freezing Butter

Yes, i freeze butter. I also make my own butter occasionally and freeze that as well as making batches of garlic and herb butter then freeze it. I had some of that last weekend that must have been in the freezer for about 3 years - nothing wrong with it at all.

Front loader with COLD and HOT fill

My machine is hot and cold fill but I wouldn't dream of connecting it to the hot water, complete waste of time as by the time the hot pipes are purged of cold, the machine is filled and washing. Bung a 'Y' piece on and forget all about the hot water supply!

How long can a dishwasher last

My mother in law used to have her own private catering company although she hasn't done that for some years now. However, she regularly throws parties for the local Conservative party and has large family gatherings as well as her own daily cooking - she cooks for the church, various old...

    Bosch WFF 2000

One of my dream machines - I have been after one for a long time. They come up on Ebay quite often but are either in less than good condition or so far away as to make it completely impratical. This one appeared in Cheltenham and looked to be in good nick and it certainly is! Picked it up for...

    H-axis top loading washing machines

I had h-axis machines for 13 years until about 4 months ago when I had to change to FL due to a kitchen refit. I loved my h-axis machines - initially thought it was weird that you couldn't see what was going on but got used to that quickly - I had Hoover,Servis and Hotpoint ones - Miele were...

Candy Bi-matic twin tub washing video, comments on agitation......

It reminds me of an Ada Washing machine - my mother had an Adamatic twin tub and this machine even looks like one; the control panel on the front is similar too - the only thing missing from the front is the lever! The agitation arc is very small - like Ada's were. There is a clip on YouTube of...
