    Maytag problem

Hi map79z28, the spinny thing is the transmission. The transmission isn't supposed to move/spin until the washer is spinning or draining. It is normal for the transmission not want to move when you try to wiggle it. The brake is holding it in place, and the brake will release when the machine...

    Kenmore Thread!

    Kenmore Thread!

That last machine was Early to Mid 80s. This is a Mid 80s to end of production for BD. I believe these were produced in Canada up until 1990ish, thats when they changed the control panel design.

    Kenmore Thread!

Gansky1 that '72 Kenmore in post 557151 is a beauty, really well styled. I'll post a picture of my BD Kenmore later on, I will get a new picture for everyone. The rest of the photos will be of Canadian machines. I saved the photos from Kijiji. Enjoy!

You're welcome. My Grandparents used to have one like it in a set. I wouldn't call these machines "Feature Packed", but I would refer to them as well equipped. They had 2 speeds, self cleaning filters, variable water levels, 5 wash/rinse temps, DA agi, and well priced.

Here is a picture of the Canadian BD machines that had the same style control panel. This isn't my picture, just one I collected from Kijiji.

That washer is a Canadian machine. You can tell because the water temps are "H•C C•F" and water levels are "Lo Bas", and of you look close enough, there is a extra rinse cycle which has the French word for Rinse has the C with a flick on the bottom. If you zoom in on the control panel you can...

Why was Frigidaires Agitator Design Abandoned?

So what is going on here with this machine? It is a WCI Frigidaire, but it has the Westinghouse mechanicals, and 1-18 panel (and its not a 'hybrid' because the water level selector has a diagram of the agi and not the Jetcone)? It looks like after they abandoned the 1-18 they "slapped" together...

Funny you should post this, because the dryer that probably matches is on Kijiji here in Nova Scotia, for an outrageous price too.          http://novascotia.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-home-appliances-super-capacity-washer-and-h-d-dryer-newer-type-W0QQAdIdZ330903143

My Whirlpool set comes home this weekend ....finally

Congratulations on getting these machines. I too love DD machines for their simplicity, and they are very easy to take apart. I am also a fan of the "Tilt Panels" WP had when they came out with these, I like the black tilt panels better than the pure white ones. If I had this set, I think I...

The last helical drive generation finds a new home

Thanks everyone for the comments! I got the washer hooked up now. I will get a video of it sometime this week. The tub has been restored, but there still is an slight orange tinge to it in some places, so I am going to try the Lime-Away Gel suggestion.

    Maytag Dishwasher Question

I'll just reiterate what everyone has said LOL These machines are loud. However, they will clean anything you put into them, and that being said, you could fit an elephant in there. Capacity is unmatched, and loading options are extremely versitile. I have been on the hunt for one of these...

The last helical drive generation finds a new home

@Drew, excellent, thanks for the P/N, I have a service manual for big load 06 and 08 series, but not 10s or 12s. Thanks very much, that will be replaced post haste! No messing around with 240V for me lol.   @toploader55 Yeah these and the 10 series are a handsome design, very contemporary...
