Model Numbers are Deceptive The line of models numbered 415/525/625/825 was replaced by the line of models numbered 502/702/902. The lighted panel was discontinued. The brochure shows the 3 colors available: White, Harvest Gold, and the ever-popular Avocado Green.

Model BA-902 This series of washers (with 902 as the top-of-the-line) was the final Blackstones, mid-1970s. This sell sheet shows more of the insides and specs. Different control panel, but the same inside, as the picture-of-the-day models.

Before and After I just used dish detergent and laundry detergent, total of 5 applications, using a clean rag to concentrate on the worst spots. Removed most of the stains, and did not affect the printing. I'm satisfied.

The material is woven, probably some type of polyester, judging by the feel of it. No label. I highly doubt that the stains are organic. Just wondering if dry cleaning would damage the printing. Would the dry cleaning process have to be done to the entire banner, or could the process be...

I would not expect to return this advertising banner to excellent condition. I would just like to remove as much dirt and stainage as possible, without destroying the fabric or printing. I am satisfied with leaving as is, but if anyone has any ideas on cleaning, I would appreciate it.

Royal 10 This is the typewriter that we used in our store. I used it as a kid back in the late 1950s. Same desk, too. Cambridge Typewriter in Cambridge, Mass., is a source for parts and info. The black-and-white picture was colorized by MyHeritage.com genealogy site.

1954 Table from Jamestown I have this table, manufactured by Elite Furniture, Jamestown, NY. The newspaper ad is from May 1954 (the year I was born). Apparently, my father got the table as part of a sales promotion for Blackstone appliances in his store, and saved the table.

I did not know about the paper output. I just assumed that the levers advanced a mechanical counter, to be read at the end of the day.

These mechanical voting machines were manufactured in Jamestown, NY; same city in which Blackstone products were made. The voter would move a big lever sideways to close a curtain. There were rows of small levers. The voter would push down on a particular lever to cast a vote for that person...
