This morning while checking my email, I noticed one from Comcast with the subject that my payment had failed. Since I've been having some issues with AT&T lately, I kind of just thought "oh no, now what?" and opened it. As soon as I was about to log in I thought "Wait a minute!"

The web address at the top was completely weird and there were strange characters around the page. I immediately closed it without inputting anything and when I went back to the message in my email and looked closer there were numerous typos.

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up. I've heard of this happening lately but it's the first time it happened to me.

Never, ever click a link in an unexpected email that claims to go to a vendor or service provider's web site.  Open your browser and go the web site via the normal, direct URL outside of the email if you want to investigate whether the supposed problem is legitimate.

Or, copy and paste the link so you can SEE how it's coded for anything suspicious ... and be sure to check the entire length of the link.  Sometimes they look legitimate at the front but have something nefarious tacked-on to the end.[this post was last edited: 4/26/2020-14:15]
