Why do frontloaders use so much less water?

Was reading today about water usage; my Maytag Centennial TL probably uses around 19 gallons on a regular load. There is a Whirlpool FL that uses 7 gallons. Whats the big difference? Are FL any good? Harder to work on? I always liked the TLs for ease of maintenance.

Anyone have classic cars ready for Summer cruising?

I had my fling with old cars in college. My '00 Mercury Grand Marquis with 187k miles is my daily driver and all I mess with besides a Jeep for winter use. Nice Eldorado by the way. Caddys and Lincolns were my thing. My first car was a '68 Coupe deVille.

    New Speed Queen TC5

Watched the Rivas video, interesting. I wonder how much water with deep fill off vs my Maytag Centennial?

    Putting Up Preserves

I'm a 40-y/o male and I can, both hot-water bath and pressure (finally saved up enough Cabela's points to get an All-American Pressure Canner cheap). Applesauce from our trees and my own garden stuff but have been known to bulk can purchased things as well. Have done this for years. Pickles...

What Spares to Keep for GE Electric Range

JBP24G0N1AD is the full model, sorry, was working from memory. Fair amount of both burner and oven use. Condition is overall good although I did have to replace the oven handle mounts due to plastic cracking on either side.

What Spares to Keep for GE Electric Range

I have an early 1990s GE electric Range, a JGP24 model, with a manual clock. Wanting to keep the thing forever and am wondering what spares to get? I did pick up two oven thermostats because they are the main component which could go bad and are discontinued/hard to find. Everything else...

    Servel Natural Gas Refrigerator

You need to advertise this in Lancaster county. The Amish are nuts for this kind of thing because it neatly circumvents the prohibition on electricity.

I need a dome for an Oster Blender lid.

I got a Vitamix about 6 years ago that has been great. My wife wasn't happy that I combined the $500 blender as a birthday/mother's day gift (her birthday is less than a week from MD). But it has been good.

    College cafeteria memories--good and bad

I was a commuter so I had the same experience you did. Don't even really know where the kids ate, TBH.

AUTHOR LOOKING TO TALK TO AW MEMBERS

I wrote her and she replied, and I replied with my story but never heard back. Perhaps because I am east coast.

What school food was your favorite, if any?

The soft pretzels were good. I always packed but would snitch a few off of the trays waiting for the ladies to wash them if they looked untouched.

    New Whirlpool/Maytag Front Loaders

Will the new ones do it, though, or do you need to go pre-2017?
