Came across this in my news feed ...I Could Never Get My White Sheets Really Clean...

Glenn, yes I noticed that too. Had to read between the lines! Would read it, “washing their underwear after every five uses...”. I can’t imagine there’s any detergent out there that could take care of the severity of stains. Would be better off buying new underwear.   Barry [this post was...

Came across this in my news feed ...I Could Never Get My White Sheets Really Clean...

Reviving this thread.   This headline popped up in a newsfeed. I nearly hurled my coffee.   You would think in the age of Covid people would be more prone to launder their bed linens, and personal attire.  I can't understand why the behavior. Depression? Laziness?    Seriously, what gives...

    "All" Has Been Reformulated

Chris, I have wondered what exactly causes the skin irritations / breakouts, the dyes or the fragrances or a combination of both. Plus there is all kinds of chemicals that could as well. Strange that Persil did not break me out, but it has a stronger scent. P&G products have caused horrid...

    "All" Has Been Reformulated

Tom, It's low sudsing, but a second rinse might have helped.  My skin is just sensitive now, aging thing. Am saving the bottle to wash rugs and cleaning towels.    Barry

    "All" Has Been Reformulated

Heads Up: Appears Henkel has reformulated regular All.  Bought a bottle to try and indeed it has more 'ump' to it than the old formula. Washed some really dirty yard-work clothes and it cleaned noticeably better. They changed the scent too, now called Sunshine Fresh, smells a bit weaker, toned...

    Wrangler pants

I like Wranglers also. They seem to hold up better for me and are comfortable as well. My jeans of choice.

    summer clothes line weather

Stripped the bed yesterday. It was in the 90’s and everything dried quickly, faster than using the dryer. Slept really good last night, with that fresh outdoor smell on the sheets. Barry

    KAWFFEE

Eddie, I like your stove too!!!  The older I get the more I like simplicity, almost in all things.  I have a Kenmore smooth top, very easy to keep clean.  My oven cooks cooler so I always adjust for that when cooking.   Barry

    KAWFFEE

Now this is a serious subject!! LOL.  Gotta have that coffee to start out my day. It's a BAD day when I don't. LOL. I prefer to keep it simple these days. In the past I've had fancy this and fancy that in making coffee and I prefer what I do now. I think the secret to good coffee is good water...

What is the best washer you have had?

Probably a GE Filter-Flo with ramped activator. Cleaned well and didn’t wear the clothes out. Rinsed well. Barry

    Whirlpool matching set in Coppertone!

Those are really nice, would love to have a set like that. I hope you get many years use out of them. Barry

    Borax! Who’s still using ?

@ MixGuy,  "Not a fan of fragrance or dyes so I use detergent without those additives."  A welcomed observation.  I completely agree, as I am finding many fragrances can bring on headaches, or make me feel bad.  I'm glad to see that I'm not alone.    Barry <a style="font-family: "Times New...

Bob Load of newly installed, old, GE dishwasher

A couple of years ago I bought a Maytag dw to replace a KitchenAid that kept going down, mother board kept going out and didn't even get 5 years use out of it. I looked at a GE at Home Depot that I really liked but decided against it, and took the advice of Combo52 and bought the MT. I honestly...

What do you call it ?

Agree with Askolover,    Always called a stove. Refrigerator always called "the Frigidaire," no matter the make. Washers were often called "the Maytag."   Barry <a style="font-family: "Times New Roman"; font-size: medium; font-weight: 400;" name="start_87233.1118235"></a>

What Is Your Preferred Detergent of Choice?

Mark, what about Cheer ColorGuard powder? Years ago I used to use it and it did pretty good at that time.  I quit using it as it suds pretty bad and got tired of having to run a 2nd rinse all the time. They have since reformulated it I heard, to be lower sudsing.  The scent was light, but...

What Is Your Preferred Detergent of Choice?

petek, you are spot on 100%. I bought a small bottle of Arm & Hammer Clean Burst to try and saw a difference in cleaning and overall look to the clothes. The scent is not too bad though a bit strong for my taste, but I think it needs 2 rinses anyway as it did foam up a lot but that would knock...

    PotD - GE SpotScrubber

Glenn, that's definitely a good thought, observation, and noticed that also. Would be happy to have most of those detergents in my stash now, esp. Fresh Start.    GE was an excellent washer, my mom had one similar to the one pictured, ramped activator. Back in 1988-1989 I was managing a huge...

What Is Your Preferred Detergent of Choice?

Thank-you Petek for the reply, do appreciate it. Think I read a post sometime back from Laundress that it is heavy in washing soda.  I unscrewed the cap and took a whiff, smelled good if a little strong. My cousin uses it and may be going to visit her, so I was just wondering. She swears by it. ...

What Is Your Preferred Detergent of Choice?

What’s everyone’s opinion of Arm & Hammer Clean Burst scent detergent? Does it clean well? Is the scent strong? Has anyone had any allergic reactions to it? Would you use it as a daily driver? I’ve never used it but am curious. Also does it fade clothing? Thanks, Barry
