    Magic Chef 20”

    Don’t see many 20” with rear controls… https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1186433328931077/?mibextid=6ojiHh

    Newer smooth top ranges

Nice range! It’s unfortunate that Frigidaire doesn’t make 40” ranges anymore.

    We bought a new freezer

We did the same thing about 8 years ago. Had a small Sears “Galaxy” that worked great but got tired of having to dig around in it, and don’t miss having to defrost it. Haven’t had any problems with the upright one, it’s a Frigidaire made Kenmore.

    Newer smooth top ranges

I took another look at the Frigidaire ranges. There is no texture or pattern in the glass at all. It’s smooth, glossy black glass. If you look at the GE top in reply 6 there is a pattern in the glass. This is what I noticed as well in stores on the GE and LG ranges. You can see a sort of square...

    Newer smooth top ranges

Mike I do like how the white glass looks with the white paint yours have. That said I also like the gray pattern of Eddie’s. Good to hear these aren’t scratching. I do remember my aunt used to have a 70s GM Frigidaire cooktop with the white colored top. It felt kind of porous if I remember...

Is this the end for Kenmore?

Didn’t read through the whole thread yet, but I don’t think so. I’ve seen their vacuums sold in pretty much all the major retailers websites. A few weeks ago I saw a Kenmore freezer for sale at Lowes, think they sell a French door fridge too.

    Newer smooth top ranges

Of course I’d really like to find a new range with a warming drawer and a panel light, but nobody seems to make any with these features anymore!

    Newer smooth top ranges

I noticed Lowes had the Frigidaire Gallery smooth top range with convection on sale for $899, not bad considering the regular price is $1200. Anyway reading reviews I noticed quite a few mentioned the glass top surface scratches very easily even if no pots or pans were dragged across it. Sone...

    Unknown gas slide in

Missed one odd detail… I just noticed something is strangely missing. Where’s the handle for the broiler drawer? I don’t see any screw holes so it doesn’t appear to be missing.

    Unknown gas slide in

I highly doubt it has a 110 v oven. If so I’ve never heard of such a range. Also notice no bake element, which shows its most likely gas. I doubt the seller knows what they’re saying or else they meant to say 110 v oven light.

    Unknown gas slide in

Yes I figured likely one of those “off brand” stoves. Being it has a power cord, I assume it’s for an oven light, or perhaps this actually has electric ignition? 70s mobiles here in Florida seemed to often have Magic Chef cooktops with a wall oven adjacent. Into the 80s usually had almond gas...

    Unknown gas slide in

No name that I see on it. Any ideas? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/676103163889779/?mibextid=6ojiHh

Is it me or ranges are so boring.

Haven’t seen any posts from Sandy I a long time! Really like the fluorescent light, I wish ranges still had that! Kenmore had a sort of modern LED strip light on some of their Elite models a few years ago, but I think they’ve all been discontinued. Whirlpool too had an LED night light on some...

Is it me or ranges are so boring.

Joe, I do have to say I like the looks of that control panel. I like the looks, at least, if ranges such as yours and the LG models that have the tall control panel and all touch controls. I assume that display shows the temperature next to the clock readout, instead of in place of it? I can’t...

Is it me or ranges are so boring.

Even compared to “newer” ranges of 15-25 years ago the stuff out now seems so plain and dull. The metal parts look thin and cheap compared even to then. Hardly any new ranges have a warming drawer feature whereas they were fairly common 15 years ago. Nothing now has a panel light or even LED...

    Long Slot Toasters

The existing one may just need a cleaning. Maybe blowing out with an air compressor to remove crumbs/crust buildup, and checking the terminals for any burned on deposits that might be making cycles too long.

    Long Slot Toasters

A lot of the long slot toasters these days are two slot, so as to get 4 slices into a 2 slice toaster. But there are still single slot ones around. I don’t know that there’s much variability in quality between brands anymore, so you might just try doing an internet search and see what you can...

    Generac Standby Generator

With Hurricane Ian on the way, have really been thinking about getting one of these. Every hurricane that crosses our path typically get 2 weeks with no power. After Irma in 2017 we were out four weeks. I'm just dreading thinking about it. I don't even mind being without TV, internet, lights...

    Unusual Gibson Gas Range

That reminds me of this (Sunray?) that was shared several years back. https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?54392
