Rhode Island Rescue part 1 - The Frigidaire DW CIUK dishwasher

Update - The Frigidaire Custom Imperial has been revived! I'll apologize in advance for the lack of pictures, but I cannot upload directly from my stupidphone and the picture orientation may be wrong (that effin' phone just may the first thing I run down a recently acquired NIB GE...

Lovely Ironrite 95 In Gorgeous Avocado

That was repainted.  Avocado wasn't part of the appliance colours pallette back when the IronRites were on the market.

    Road trip!!

Last but not least.... A 1957, Sheer-Look, Control-Tower WI-57 Blackstone BA250... but in white....  OK, all kidding aside, THIS was a real find because I just happen to have a fully-functional 1957 Frigidaire Control-Tower dryer to match it!  Some more club history here:  this is one of the...

    Road trip!!

1950 GE Stand-Alone dishwasher The only one I could easily find the model number for... it's a CBE-748-G16.    This machine turned up in a FB group I belong to (Thank you posting this, Chuck!!) and I had been planning on rescuing this from the home where it had originally been installed...

    Road trip!!

1957(?) Youngstown Kitchens 30-incher A "unicorn" machine for me...  The house in the Montreal suburb of Pointe-Claire where I lived most of my life had one of these in the kitchen, however it had been removed by the time we moved into the house.  I knew of one neighbour who had the Youngstown...

    Road trip!!

1957(?) Westinghouse Wash-Well dishwasher This one came from a fellow aw.org member in Arkansas.   It's going to need some messing with but I've always wanted a Westy pull-out dishwasher.  I'll need to do some digging for service information.  I'm hoping the restoration will be fairly simple -...

    Road trip!!

Rescued! 1961 Waste-King Universal dishwasher I found this one first...  It was being sold off in a house demolition sale, IIRC, along with a pink cooktop and oven.  Amazingly, the door is a 'custom' wood paneled one! This one is going to need a good cleaning for sure, but per the condition of...

    Road trip!!

It's been a good while since I've done a major road trip/international rescue mission.  The border having been closed in 2020 into 2021 was a key factor, but that didn't stop me from rounding up more machines!   With the gracious help of folks here in automaticwasher-land, I managed to find and...

Potentially might be getting a automatic dishwasher/washing machine

Late 40s to early 50s I believe.  The machine was unique because there were separate tubs for washing laundry or washing dishes.  Not completely 'automatic' though... one had to manually select fill or drain operations and start the washing action.

    Mixer find

That's a great deal for that Kenwood mixer, Pete!  Congrats!

    Coming up for sale.....

I dropped out of that FB group months ago... too much bullshit and I'm at the stage in my life where I don't deal with it as well as I used to nor do I have the tolerance level that I used to.      Let's hope it gets saved by someone worthy of it!!

Removal of a 1948 GE Dishwasher questions

I'll be posting all about this adventure, I promise, Ralph!  A certain pink Westinghouse is finally going to be migrating north for the winter, too....  Hee hee

Removal of a 1948 GE Dishwasher questions

Still installed.... But has not been used in a very long time.   The person who I'm getting the machine from was told by their home inspector that it doesn't work, but I'd be surprised.   I know I'm going to have some "fun" removing this one BUT given the chewed-up GE pull-outs and the 57...

Removal of a 1948 GE Dishwasher questions

I've been hatching this one for over 2 years now... In late 2019, a FB friend posted about an old GE dishwasher that was in the kitchen of the house of a friend and would anyone be interested in it.  I jumped on it and had planned to get the machine in spring of 2020... but the pandemic was...

Frigidaire Automatic Dryer - A Product Of General Motors

That dryer is a model that several folks here have been looking for as a parts donor.... Pity the auction company does not seem interested in helping buyers with shipping.

Who made this vintage wall oven

I've used drop-door and side-swing ovens, both in ranges and on built-in oven units but my absolute fave is the Frigidaire Flair "swing up" oven door!  It works best for me (I'm not tall) and I find with increasing joint issues that getting a pan or dish out of the oven is so much easier when I...

    Rare!

Damn, that's nice...  I never noticed the cutlery basket on the 16s are the same as the 15s.

Who made this vintage wall oven

This style was incredibly popular here in Québec in the late 80s and early 90s - most often they were WCI brands like Frigidaire or Kelvinator.  I've worked on a couple for friends over the years!
