    Cruise-O-Matic: Part Ten

I googled the Bel Air again. It looks like most came as two-tone, although some of the pictures with the one tone cars I saw might not be original. I guess we will never be 100% sure. This picture will have to be saved as either/or. Thanks guys,

    Cruise-O-Matic: Part Ten

Thank you Eddie! That makes sense. It wasn’t my mother’s car, but a shared car of my father and his brothers. They had several as we understand. They worked together in the family company. So far we have identified a few Pontiacs, a few Chevies and a Vauxhall for the years 1947 - 1960. Later...

Appliances: The Future is Battery Powered

Back up batteries for the home already are a thing here. Even Ikea sells them. Ikea’s are 3758 euro for 5kWh. They have models up to 30 kWh. Other brands are Tesla, LG, Huawei, Solarwatt, Solar Edge and Green Rock. The last one is a salt water battery. If you have a lot of money to spend you...

    Dawn Ruined By P&G

Thanks Eddie for the link. It answers most questions here. I just found out that a bird rescue center overhere in the Netherlands uses Dreft dishwashing liquid, also a P&G product. Apparently it makes a difference what is used. In the 70’s we collected money for a bird rescue center that a...

    Dawn Ruined By P&G

Removing oil from birds George, If that bird was covered with oil, it was good that they washed it with dish detergent. I’m not familiar with Dawn, but mostdish detergent is ok. It might look cruel, but it’s the mildest method for this purpose.

    Transparent Dishwasher

My all time favourite, this Constructa from 1966, has a small window. You can’t see the back of the machine.

Overly scented products are in reality often covering up that things are not clean. Like strong scented detergent that covers up the smell of mold in a washing machine.

    Samsung Heat Pump Washer Dryer

My point exactly Henrik, half measures for a whites cycle. Always found Samsung’s programmes awkward. I was never tempted to consider Samsung for household appliances.

What's the deal with microwaves rusting so fast?

Never had a problem with rust in a microwave. I would never buy a microwave with only one power level. 1000 Watts is great for heating up liquids but not for reheating food. Around 600 Watts is the max. for that purpose. It’s better to reheat slower, the food stays more intact and doesn’t taste...
