    Help! Maytag A-208 outer tub

Blue paint..... The closest Ive seen to the original shade was 1964 Chevy Impala " Silver Blue " paint. Growing up my dads friend had a 64 4dr hard top in that exact same color. Hope this helps.

    Possible Maytag A806 score

Well after a bout of pancreatitis kicked my ass the last 4 weeks I was finally able to go to a friends house this week he just bought to fix up and sell. Saying the old guy was a slob is an understatement. The place is a dirty pig stye. I originally went there to look at some old VW's and a...

Good-Bye To Gas Kitchen, Hot Water & Heating & Laundry Appliances In NYC

As if electric grids arent over burdened already. They should be building more "clean" power plants ahead of all this demand they're now creating, but they wont. So when power goes out you're totally fcked unless you have a HUGE standby generator until they ban those. NO THANKS. I'll take my...

    Maytag A712 Is Dying

Have you tried Kroil? Its the best stuff on the planet to loosen frozen parts. Also try taking a small wooden block and tapping one of the spokes of the pulley with a hammer to spin it off the shaft

    Should I or shouldn’t I?

Looks like the 1964 A500 I parted out. It was given to me by a friend that let it sit 2 years with water in the tub after it died and wouldnt pump out. It was like new but sadly the spin basket rotted out on the bottom from the standing water all that time. The reason was the start winding burnt...

My Early Maytag A806 Rework Progress

I wonder if really cleaning those splines down shiny and brushing a thin coat of zinc chromate primer would keep rust and pitting at bay a while?

Another "Aunt" vanishes from the breakfast table

Reply #16 Most times here in the USA the triggered lot take something that was never ugly and racist in the first place either and spin it to make something the vast population never had a problem with for many decades but suddenly becomes infuriated with. See what happens when you grow without...

Another "Aunt" vanishes from the breakfast table

Reply #4 No but Guido & Co sure were treated like dirt when they came here, from getting their names destroyed in translation to being treated like trash by the Irish, who loathed all those " dirty guineas ". Trust me I heard lots of stories growing up from the old timers that lived through...

Another "Aunt" vanishes from the breakfast table

Woke culture madness The country has gone crazy. Being Italian it wouldnt have bothered me a bit if there was a pasta sauce sold under the " Old Guido " or " Joe Grease ball " brands. I think theres bigger fish to fry in life to get triggered over all that krappe

My Early Maytag A806 Rework Progress

I salvaged a bakelite agitator off a 1964 A500 that hadnt been off in decades by drilling a hole in the center after removing the lint filter and soaking it a few days with Kroil. It gave me a fight but I was still able to wiggle it off with my hands. I J B Welded the hole after.

    Advice for repairing rust holes

Bondo As far as fillers go the all time best I used was something called Chrome A Lite by Evercoat. Its very creamy and smooth and is less prone to air bubbles than other brands. I used it on my Benz front fenders 30 years ago and it hasnt cracked or bubbled yet.

    Getting the family chariot washed

Reply #4 Magnesium Chloride is especially corrosive to metals more so than salt because it holds the moisture in. It may as well be battery acid for what it does to cars. I wash my VW to death in Winter or there wouldnt be anything left after 21 years. My 84 Mazda truck came from CA and was...
