You pay for what you get...

These have been around a while in different iterations, this was a Criterion at a local DIY lumber yard store, Menards.  Makes you wonder what led to the decision to put a warning near that hole.

    Spiffy Hotpoint BOL

My mom's aunt & uncle had this (O.P.) model in their new home, also in avocado with the same drop-in HP range in first pic above.  They had a KM Roto-Rack in their previous home that performed reasonably well but this Hotpoint was abysmal.  They hand-washed most everything before loading...

Pink 1959 Frigidaire imperial washer dryer set

Considering most buyers will have to ship the set, a grand or so would be a fairer price for an un-restored set.  I might bite at that, been having some pank-pangs lately :-)

Frigidaire front load matching pair w/d

Nice find, Ken.  They look like they're in good shape.   Hope you're enjoying the Palm Springs life.

    Zenith WW

Zenith sourced their automatics from Apex (fiberglass washer tub with water-balance pockets) and this wringer looks Apex-built as well.  I wonder if the Zenith name on appliances went away with the end of Apex in '58?  Did they build their own refrigerators or source them from Coolerator...

Behold - a new, dedicated appliance workshop in Ogden, QC

Very nice, Paul, with all of this space and your great collection(s) you'll have to host a wash-in soon.

    POD 5-2-2024

You could do an overflow rinse in the AMP but it really wasn't too effective as the inner perforated tub was higher than the outer container so it was more of an "underflow" than over the top.  Dilution of the water probably would help some but would do little to get rid of the scum and...

    Bob's Lady Shredmore

Good save, I had one of these LKs way back in 87 when I worked at Sears and bought a customer returned set.  Nice washer all around.     It's been too long since we've seen you Bob, that beard threw me for a second.  Looking good!

    Home Again

Congrats on getting all of your collections back with you in your new home.  Nice looking house as well, glad you're getting settled in after a few years of moving around.  We'll have to have a midwest gathering soon and welcome you "home."  Enjoy your having your familiar things near...

GE Mobile Maid, $25, FB Marketplace

That was my grandmother's dishwasher, but with a white (lightly textured?) lid.  Hers had the chute type det. dispenser.  She must have discovered the timing-design flaw as she always popped lid and added more detergent after that first fill drained.  Hers had no pressure release/bypass...

    Ever seen this lint filter?

I also have one in its original box - did we find those at Modern Parts House?    John is right, they take up a lot of room in the tub but are very cool to watch.  Speed Queen had one that came standard with many models over the years.  SQ also had one with a softener dispenser ring around...

    POD 3-10-2024 Maytag SAVASUDS system

I remember lots of 'saving suds' laundry, my grandmother's sister had one.  They lived on a farm with a well.  Though modern enough equipment; pump, air-tank, softener and water heater, they still had to use water sparingly.  During times of drought, the well would run poorly and even at...

    old speed queen question

This is from a commercial Speed Queen washer, it will work with with any of the solid tub agitators.

bought this last friday and came today

This is from a KitchenAid washer, earlier model, probably late 80's.   Your collection is growing, this is a good one to have.

Easy Spindrier shown in "Driving Miss Daisy"

This was only one room of Miss Daisy's kitchen/pantry/laundry. It looked like a wonderful space to work in.  I seem to remember a Chambers gas range in the main kitchen.   In the late 30's, Consumer Reports declared the wringer washer obsolete as there were far more convenient options...

Resurrecting a 1964 Whirlpool Top Loading Dishwasher, Pristine, Except...........

It's mint!   Very nice pictures of a really neat machine.  I've only seen one of these WP top loads in the wild, a neighbor bought one used for $10 and it turned out it had a bad timer (motor) and "won't stop running."

Presenting the 1961 RCA Whirlpool Ultimatic. Another Gyromatic Production

It's always a treat to see machines that John has restored, they take your breath away.  I can't wait to see this one in action, he's outdone himself again.
