Gain detergent long has been more about scent than anything else. Thus, it isn't surprising to one at least powder version (or liquid for that matter) have same cleaning oomph as most versions of Tide. Tide is and long has been P&G's top shelf bread and butter. Nothing P&G sells laundry...

Tap cold water.... One has got that cracked. Aside from some woolens, silks and few other delicate items nothing in this house is laundered at temps < 86 F or whatever temp our European washing machines define as "cold/30 degrees C". Even when doing wash by hand or using semi-automatic washers...

Here's what one does not understand If Tide "Hygienically Clean" removes 10x more soils or whatever from wash, what does that say about the other dozen or so versions of Tide laundry detergent? Does using regular Tide mean one's wash isn't totally clean?

Methinks powdered laundry detergent is going to see a resurgence in USA. Liquids have shorter shelf life compared to powders and many are fed up with pods.

Now this change by P&G is something one likes. P&G has reworked Tide "Free and Gentle" powder and it's now "Clean and Gentle" As one who is actively seeking to give liquid laundry detergents the push this is welcomed news...
