    New 2010 Kenmore Front Loaders

Fewer Top Loaders at Sears I was in Sears this week and my local store had 2 rows of Top Loader washers and 1 row of those were HE machines. They had about 6 rows of Front Loaders. It won't be long before we are all forced to buy those crappy front loaders that use 2 cups of water.

    Kirkland Eco_Friendly Fabric Softner

I like it I use this softener and I love it, although I probably use more of it per load than most people. It leaves a very light nice scent and it not super "waxy" like most other fabric softeners. I agree with Sudsmaster regarding towels-- they are nice and soft without losing their absorbancy.

Speed Queen top loader review / Consumer Reports.org

Consumer Reports is no longer very accurate I subscribe to Consumer Reports.org and find them to do a sloppy job of reviewing products now. Most of the time, they can't even correctly list the features of a machine. And one of the craziest things I've ever seen is they reviewed 2 Maytag model...

    1972 Buick Rivera GS

67 Wildcat My Grandmother bought a 1967 Wildcat and it was still going strong in 1991 when she died. Unfortunately we sold the car--That baby would eat the road up!

    Cabrio or Kitchen Aid

Top load design disappearing Just let me know soon enough so that I can go and buy me a new traditional top loader to have when the one I have now quits---

    Kenmore 500 series

Are you sure it's made by Whirlpool? I know Whirlpool used to make all of Sears appliances, but they use different manufacturers now. I believe I read somewhere if the model number begins with 101- it is a Whirlpool manufactured product. I bought a Maytag (Whirltag) last year and June and it...

Should I get a KitchenAid Dishwasher?

G3et them My mother has that dishwasher-- She bought hers in 1991. It has never given her a minutes trouble and she loves it. Another great thing about these machines is they actually get your dishes dry-- because they get hot enough to do it during the drying cycle. The government energy...

    Sometimes, this site is dangerous...

1950s for sure My Grandmother had that same mixer. She finally wore it out in the late 1980s. She got it for a birthday present in the mid 1950s.

    Kirkland Environmentally Friendly Fabric Softener

I use the regular Kirkland Brand liquid detergent and love it. I've been tempted to try the "Environmental friendly version, but I'm afraid it would not clean as well. I also discovered the environmentally friendly fabric softner at Costco last week. It did seem very thin- and my experience in...

    Walmart?

Free Shippng They say they are offering free shipping on those machines-- Not so FREE I'd say-- Someone would be crazy to order a washer from Walmart online

POD 09/18/09 LK & Sta Puf

Final Touch and LK My grandmother swore by Final Touch-- Its all she ever used. My Mother had a Lady Kenmore she bought in 1971 or 1972 Series 800-- was a great machine, Hers did not have the "Keys" on it-- just the dial and other knobs-- but I don't think it had a notched lid-- had the handle...

    POD 9.13.09

Creativity and Artistic Abilities All manufacturers want to do know is turn out the cheapest stuff that can and sell it for premium price-- It would cost money to let engineers make a real quality product.

P&G makes some changes in Laundry

P & G Products I rarely use P & G Laundry Detergents anymore as they are too high sudsing, even using smaller amounts than they recommend. I have a traditional top loader (2007 Maytag/Whirltag). I used to use Cheer for dark colors as it did not have optical brightners in it-- now I assume they...

Nice Kenmore gas Dryer in Atlanta Area

It is 45 yrs old My aunt had that same dryer-- lasted for many years.

    Beat Off

My grandmother had a Sunbeam Model 10- It finally quit after about 40 years of use-- but I always loved that mixer as a kid-- brings back a lot of good memories of being with her in the kitchen.

Oh Yoo-Hoo! Maytag Washer in Indiana

Its also a lot older than 10 years too!

Which has better parts, Whirlpool or Maytag?

It doesn't On the Traditional Maytag top loaders, they have the "Auto Temp" that mixes cold with hot water to make "Hot" water. But the "Cool" water temp is nice in the winter as it mixes some hot with mostly cold water to keep if from being so cold as to not make detergent work properly. If I...

Which has better parts, Whirlpool or Maytag?

You are right about the noise AndrewInOrland, You are sure right about the noise--when the Maytag washer I bought last summer is on, you don't have any trouble hearing it. But I'm used to it now. It does have a Stainless Steel washbasket- doesn't look like that good of a grade of steel to me...

Which has better parts, Whirlpool or Maytag?

I wish they had taken the larger Kitchen Aid agitator and 3 speed motor to the Top loaders, but they used the regular Whirlpool agitator with the smaller fins- My mother has a Kitchen Aid washer and dryer from 2001 and it is a bit nicer. The washer has a knob for different combinations of...
