What size magnet do you need to bypass the lid switch on a plastic GE washer. I have tried a couple of sizes and nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Flex Care Agitator I will keep what you said in mind and hope for the best. I am stuck with these and have no choice. I will do smaller loads (which I do already, i.e. three pairs of jeans) and keep a watch on the machine to make sure things are moving and turning over.

GE Washers Do all GE washers have the hydrowave wash action regardless of the type of agitator? I am moving into a apartment with a new set of GE's and I believe the washer will have the Flex care agitator.

I am moving into an apartment equiped with a GE Washer and Dryer thus giving up my Whirlpool Gold set. The washer has the flex-care straight vain agitator. Anyone out there using a GE washer or have used a GE washer with this type of agitator? How effective with turn over, etc.? Thanks!!

Thanks I think the seller said they were 2002 models. He said he found them while cleaning out a storage area at a non-profit agency he works at.

Thanks for the replys I will give it a try and see, probably on my whites only. I am absolutely not a fan of over-sudsing at all even though I double rinse on everything.

Has anyone tried ROMA Detergent? How well did it work, etc? I purchased some this past weekend at a newly opened grocery store that caters to the mexican population mostly. Thanks!

RP2813 Yes it is...4 water levels and three temps..all push button style and the 3 basic cycles...Regular, Perm. Press with Knits on the 4 minute mark and Delicate. I believe this is a one speed machine....the Delicate cycle is "pulse"..agitate then soak, etc.

WOW.... Thanks wiskybill for the information...20 years old and it runs smoothly for the most part. The only thing I have noticed is a 1-2 second squeal when it starts agitation or when the lid is raised and closed during washing or rinsing but after that nothing. I absolutely love this machine...

Sorry... It is in this forum and at this time right below this post. (Maytag W/D in AZ). I did not notice any model or serial number decal near or on the lid or lid opening..in fact I did notice that there was no instructions on the lid..just painted white like the rest of the machine.
