Has anyone tried ROMA Detergent? How well did it work, etc? I purchased some this past weekend at a newly opened grocery store that caters to the mexican population mostly. Thanks!

Thanks for the replys

I will give it a try and see, probably on my whites only. I am absolutely not a fan of over-sudsing at all even though I double rinse on everything.

Hi Bryan. I have used Roma as well as Foca, but I like Viva the best. It has a very nice scent. All Mexican detergents do make alot of suds but then so did Viva and Tide powder.
I use Viva when I can but for some machines, especially
front loaders, I used liquid Tide HE, regular scent and it does an ok job. I also have carpet defoamer which I will use if Viva's suds get out of hand.

Thanks

Ross,

Thanks much. I have a DD Whirlpool Gold was and I used a cup of Roma last night in a average to small size wash of whites. It did suds quite a bit but not as bad as Tide, Gain, etc. The 1st rinse was suprisingly clearer than I expected and the 2nd took care of the rest of the rinsing. Everything came out looking clean with no problem. Again..thanks!

Robert-- I have access to Foca but have never tried it. You like it better than Ariel, Viva and 1-2-3? Cleaning ability? Scent, perhaps? Do tell! I may have to pick some up.

I'm expecting a big shipment from Quixtar: SA8, All-Fabric Bleach, and their Detergent Booster, which they claim outperforms Oxy-Clean. SA8 has become the detergent to beat in my house. The above-mentioned trifecta is supposed give you the whitest whites/best stain removal of anything available on the planet. We'll see. Should arrive tomorrow or Friday. Expect a mini stain-removal test.

I get great results with Roma and Foca, but I like Foca better. The scent is more pleasant to me without being overbearing. The suds seem to rinse out quicker also. I love the pretty blue color, too!

Foca is o.k. as it has a bit of bluing in it----I prefer the Ariel though if I want bluing and use it all the time for colors. I haven't enough experience using the Foca to have an opinion on how well it cleans colors, Ariel does do a great job.

Viva for whites and anything super-dirty.
Paloma for towels.

FOCA cleans well, rinses easily.
if anyone has some other Mexican Detergents they don't care for, I'll gladly take them off your hands. just let me know.

Rich
