    Noticed new Fab liquid today

Australian & NZ Detergents I sure wish I were able to ge my hands and nose on some of your front-load laundry detergents. You have soft water as we do, and I would really enjoy testing-out your products as I do ours. Here, Fab, Dynamo & Ajax were made by Colgate Palmolive, and Wisk, All &...

    Using old laundry detergents

A Soap Story... Here in Suffolk County, NY back in the early 1970's for a relatively short period, we had a TOTAL BAN on ANY detergents' sales, non-phosphate or phosphate. It caused a horrible backfire, because most people hated the soaps' lack of performance, and the high cost and ruining of...

    Ariel Laundry Detergent

For Tim... I use the term "immigrant-oriented" because here, on Long Island, there are MANY legal & illegal people living here. ALL of the local laundromats' dryer exhausts spew extreme heavy-scented air that reflects the "24-hour-a-day" use by these people constantly doing wash. Believe it of...

    The unit-dose detergents are coming....

Post# 573908, Reply# 40 2/6/2012 at 13:41 by KenmoreGuy64 I totally agree, I loved the Fab Lemon Scent powders, but they made too much suds in my washers. The Wisk Power Scoop powder also had the BEST scent, it was so pleasant and not overbearing, and low-sudsing. I used to also use...

    The unit-dose detergents are coming....

Post# 569265, Reply# 23 1/15/2012 at 15:00 by jerrod6 I really like the Persil Liquid Color Gel 1.5L bottle I buy, but won't again buy the Universal Gel, as it simply is not effective on whites & lights. Any Persil powder or Megaperls have zeolites in them and fade color wash. I will NOT...

    Ariel Laundry Detergent

Detergents' Scents I love the scent of Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Verbena liquid, but it is expensive and needs "boosters", so it's not worth it. Many of today's laundry detergents, especially Ariel & Foca have totally nauseating, heavy, "immigrant-oriented" scents that are disgusting to say the...

Other products that are not as good as they once were!

Post# 574478, Reply# 2 2/8/2012 at 18:36 I am old enough to remember that I simply don't remember TV meatloaf dinners ever having tomato sauce gravy. I thought that Salisbury Steaks were pretty much "glorified" chopped steaks, but with lots of delicious parsley mixed-into the meat. Those...

Other products that are not as good as they once were!

Post# 574594, Reply# 12 2/9/2012 at 05:03 by qualin Hi Sir! You Canadians have some of the VERY BEST EVER pop artists, both in English & French! I have thousands of CD's at home, many, MANY are of those and I cannot match the quality of the music or lyrics with American cookie-cutter music...

    Hello, New member here =)

Kevin, I love that "Woodie" Whirlpool Dryer That wood-grain Whirlpool dryer's hamper/side-swing door is amazing! I had no idea about that feature-I do have a Canadian sales brochure with "woodies" in it, I will have to look. I MUCH prefer the swinging door, my Kenmore's a pain to load and...

    The unit-dose detergents are coming....

I didn't like the tablets... I still have a brand new unopened box of 24 Korean-made Purex Tabs, and two packs of 2001 vintage Wisk tablets. I still crush the tablets in the pouch to use them, even did so for my former Kenmore TL. I dump the detergent right in the middle of the wash load ...

    shopping in currys

For Mat & Bud... Bud, why ask for just the "name brand" Wascomat, when they are identical to the Electrolux, who manufactures them. I would never want a commercial-type machine, but a top-load Speed Queen with commercial quality-YES! Mat: Here, most laundromats charge 2.75 to do a 10kg wash...

    Coin-op Westinghouse Laundromat video

Spin Speed of this washer The spin speed of these Westinghouse washers is around 500 RPM. They never dried the wash as well as top-loaders, but was then one of the fastest-spinning front-loaders. My commercial brochure for the 20lb washer says they spun at 455 RPM. Jason

Video of a 1955 Blackstone washer

Really nice machine! Kevin, thank you for posting this great video. I am surprised, though, that the spin is only about 550 RPM! I thought Blackstones spun at 850 RPM. I believe the ones in my 1960(?)Blackstone brochure shows the whole tub and drive assembly spin together! I was told that...
