    replacement dishwasher

reason for replacement I didn't replace it because it was noisy. Like others, I don't mind the noise. In fact, I find it soothing. Reminds me of childhood kitchen noises. LOL. I replaced it because of rusting racks, electrical noises (loud humming) and partly because I wanted stainless...

    replacement dishwasher

I just had to replace a 9 year old BOL Amana dishwasher which was noisy, but otherwise a good machine and cleaned well. I especially liked being able to use the quick cycle for ordinary loads. That cycle worked well and didn't take 2-4 hours to complete. I replaced it with a Whirlpool...

pods I use either Cascade powder or WalMart Great Value powder and always get fantastic results in both my BOL Amana and TOL Maytag. I always fill both cups and I NEVER pre-rinse.

    over sudsing/excess foam

answer to questions Thanks for the quick responses!! I never, never, never ever pre-rinse and the water is medium hardness, leaning toward soft. I don't use rinse aid. The over sudsing happens all the time with Cascade and often with Finish. Currently I have been using WalMart's Great Value...

    over sudsing/excess foam

Does anyone else have a problem when using dishwasher pods with over sudsing/excess foam? When I use these in either of my dishwashers (2016 Maytag and 2016 Amana), there is so much sudsing and foam that the wash action is smothered and foam is left in the bottom of the tub when the cycle...

    spray only rinse/Speed Queen

If this topic has been discussed before, please forgive me. Is the SQ spray only rinse effective? I would like to use it at all times to conserve some water, but I don't want to risk getting laundry that has not been rinsed well. I don't use fabric softener, so not being able to when I use...

    air driven power nozzle

I'm needing an air-driven power nozzle that will fit a '70's Electrolux vacuum that does not have wiring for a powered nozzle. Any suggestions as where to look? I can't seem to find one.......

Removal of a 1948 GE Dishwasher questions

will be a great adventure I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping with the removal. The house I live in (and grew up in) had the Hotpoint version of the electric sink. This GE is very similar, but is top loading. The Hotpoint was front opening. Looking forward to Thursday.....

Has anyone used Swash detergent (made by/sold by Whirlpool)? I recently bought some and so far, I am pleased with the results. Rinse water seems amazingly suds free.

    Black and Decker waffle iron/griddle

reply to fan-of-fans I've had one for several years. I use it mostly for waffles and not as a griddle. I'm very pleased with it. It replaced a 1952 Sunbeam waffle iron that had been my Mother's.

    sudsing with Tide

low suds version So far, I've only bought a bottle of Tide Clean Breeze liquid. Hopefully, all versions are now low sudsing......

    sudsing with Tide

lack of suds` I'm glad to see this. The "suds" never had anything to do with cleaning ability. The chemical that made them was added when detergents were new so that those doing laundry could equate the suds level to soap suds when real soap was used. My mom used Dash and All for years...

    sudsing with Tide

I recently switched back to Tide after using Persil for a period. I have noticed that the new bottle of liquid Tide does not create much, if any, suds. (I see this as a good thing) Has anyone else noticed this recently? My washer drains into a laundry sink and I have noticed that the rinse...

    Speed Queen water level question

water level I have the same machine and I also did the water level adjustment. After doing the adjustment, the low water level did raise to almost half a tub. I think this is just the way it is. However, others may know differently and if they do, I will be following their advice.
