ROAD TRIP TO BUFFALO FOR ROLLERMATICS ENDS IN DISASTER!

"Even a gold plated washer is still just a washer" Somebody actually said this? *GASP* I'm gonna faint! HERETIC!

ROAD TRIP TO BUFFALO FOR ROLLERMATICS ENDS IN DISASTER!

Peter... ...please add my condolences to those of the others. Indeed, to see the pictures are heartbreaking. But even more heartbreaking is to see you beating yourself up so. You say that this sight is for preservationists and that you don't deserve to be here. But the depth of emotion that...

    Pet thread

And here's my Ben...Ben was hanging around work. No residential areas nearby, the vet thinks he was just dumped. He's a very friendly and sociable cat, won the hearts of everyone at work. The vet figures he's about a year old. I adopted him last year in October. He's added a lot of joy and...

    Pet thread

Great thread! Animals always get my heart. Every time. Here's my Rudy...he'll be 16 years old in August. I've had him since he was 8 weeks old. Most wonderful dog I've ever had!

    Hardly worth posting on AutomaticWasher.org...but

Thanks for the compliments... and yes, Dave...I agree...the handle is the weakest link. I painted it separately. Who would have though getting a plastic handle off a metal door and back on, would be such a pain? And when it starts flaking, I'll probably try that pain for plastic, or heck, I...

    Hardly worth posting on AutomaticWasher.org...but

However... ...it was almond. Now, my kitchen is almond, so that would have been cool. But the washer is white. I hate mismatched appliances. Call me OCD, whatever you want, but I hate mismatched appliances. And even though the kitchen is almond, I was not about to paint the new washer to...

    Hardly worth posting on AutomaticWasher.org...but

...I'm kinda proud of myself. Then again, some of you might kick me. A while back, I posted my saga with the Whirlpool World Washer. Alas, it was not something for me to fix. So I bought a new Kenmore portable washer -- with a control panel so boring I look at it when I have trouble...

Sears Ultru Plus Powder Laundry Detergent

Ultra-Plus-er here as well... ...having seen the rave reviews here regarding Sears Ultra Plus powder, I thought I'd give it a try. As usual, the experts at AW are right on the money. Easily dissolves, and just like Lawrence/Maytagbear says it removes stains you would have thought hopeless. John

My Basket is Bouncing once again

The thought of... Robert and lip seals gets me all goose-bumpy. Seriously, beautiful work Robert, and congrats! John

My Basket is Bouncing once again

Wow! Awesome restoration! How do you like your Dremel Multi-Pro by the way? I've several Dremels, but not the Multi-Pro. It's cool to see the bits and the work that goes into such an effort. The outcome is awesome! Very nice pics, Robert, it's so cool when something so old is brought back to...

    FRIGIDAIRE new logo

Hmmm... That triangle replacing the A looks more like an international Warning sign than a letter. Add me to LeBron's supporters...enough of this pimping the dignified old marques of quality, whoring them onto injection molded cheaply-made products in order to turn a buck. John

    My First Frigidaire Functions!

Way to go, Paul! I am soooooooooooooo happy for you on this one! I had been thinking about you, and wondering how the transmission dealy was going...I'm so glad to see you got it going. A beautiful machine indeed. And if hubby says NO on bringing it inside, that's easy -- just get rid of the...

    What is it?

I just got a used, Whirlpool version of that dryer! Earlier model, doesn't have the automatic setting but it does a good job. Sears has a 10% off sale going right now, so you can get $10 knocked off the price of the stacking rack. I just ordered one yesterday, as I have the new Kenmore...

    The Most Important Automobile Question

I feel like I am more in control... Mistereric, you and a friend of mine would get along well. He had automatics since he started driving, then acquired a manual. I taught him how to drive a stick. Even since then, it's stickshifts only for him, for the "in control" reason you cite. And he...

First Fridigaire Find and how I think I f****d it up...

For the '59's there is a Tech-Talk manual online her ...at the link below. On page LP-43 (two-speed) and LP-44 (four-speed), lower left, diagrams show a lower housing with a plug. (plug = Part #5433953) Maybe that's it? Sounds like SaltySam has the answers...I hope so, I'm pullin' for yah here...

First Fridigaire Find and how I think I f****d it up...

Skritchin' head... ...I went digging through the service manuals online here, and didn't see any oil filler thingies that seemed applicable. Hope someone can help you out on this -- that is a beautiful machine!
