    LED Christmas lights

A bit early but after seeing the Christmas displays in the shops lately it got me thinking of the quality of Christmas lights etc. Do you think the LED lights are indistinguishable now between the filament type?

    Splosh Powder

Powder @ozzie908 Is the Ariel professional better than the powders bought in Sainsburys and Tesco? Where do you get yours? Any reason for the Calgon tablet?

Finish Dishwasher Tablets - Expiry Date?

Finish Tablets Used to be a user of Finish but swapped to Fairy instead. Cleans better and cheaper in the long run if you buy from Savers or Wilko.

    Splosh Powder

@rolls_rapide I suppose i could just add a scoop of own brand Tesco or Sainsburys 'Whites' booster on top of the Splosh as also suggested by @foraloysius

    Splosh Powder

@launderess Thanks for the recommendation of the Miele powder. Will give it a try when it becomes available to buy from their website! There can't be that many detergent manufacturers about apart from the big companies such as Unilever and Procter and Gamble. I read the Ariel Bio gel is...

    Food mixer recommendations

@ozzie908 I had the Kenwood Chef with liquidiser attachment and i reckon it must of been over 40 years old when it packed up. Had lots of use and i probably will replace it with either a Kenwood Chef or Kenwood Kmix. I currently just use my Kenwood Kmix hand mixer which is brilliant and does all...

    Splosh Powder

Currently using Splosh powder however even on 60C it doesn't get dirt out and the whites look dull and dingy. Has anyone else used Splosh and how did they find it in stain removal? I don't have much white items but any recommendations for the best detergent that gets things clean first time...

    Food mixer recommendations

Looking for a replacement food mixer and after some genuine feedback on anyone who owns a Kenwood or KitchenAid machine. Which do they prefer and is a better overall make and longevity? Failing those makes i had looked into a Magimix which i am pleased to see are made in France and not China!

    Dehumidifier or Tumble Dryer

@chrisbsuk Thanks for the link regarding the Meaco dehumidifier. Reasonably priced too! I don't normally have a problem drying clothes but this year haven't started the central heating as its too mild and too warm to have the log burner running as well.

    Dehumidifier or Tumble Dryer

Does anyone own a dehumidifier and how effective are they are for drying laundry? The Ebac dehumidifiers seem to get good reviews though not sure if i would be better off considering a dryer. Only issue is i have no spare room for one so maybe a compact one would be a good compromise?

    summer clothes line weather

Have found clothes dry much quicker on a line than a rotary airer.

    Lowest suds in detergent

@mralex New Persil is more concentrated when i tried it in the summer but didn't like the fragrance as much as the non bio one.

    Lowest suds in detergent

@hoovermatic meant to mention in my last post Persil Powergems can be found in Wilko or Roys of Wroxham depending where you are in the UK. Normally they have the bio or non bio variants but don't tend to have much stock!

    Lowest suds in detergent

@aquacycle Regular Ecover detergent is indeed a pain for foaming even in my very hard water however the delicate one is ok.

    Lowest suds in detergent

@hoovermatic i thoroughly recommend Splosh. Cleaning and stain removal on par with Ariel and ultra concentrated! You can only order online but i have been using it for 3 years now and don't use anything different. If i had to recommend branded then Ariel without a doubt and not too foamy.

    Dehumidifier or Tumble Dryer

Which is the better option for getting clothes dry in the autumn and winter months out of dehumidifier or tumble dryer? Never owned either so just interested in other users experiences or recommendations.

    German Persil?

Persil @ozzie908 What do you use for keeping whites bright now you no longer use Persil? What did you notice about Persil not doing its job? I am currently using Splosh still and have done so since 2019 and pleased with the results.

    Splosh powder

Just wondered if anybody else had used the Splosh detergent powder before and how they rated it in terms of stain removal and getting things bright? I am overall pleased with it but i have noticed some of my white sheets and towels beginning to turn yellow and this is despite being washed at 60C.
