    Knots Landing Appliances

Hi All, I have been watching Knots Landing on Plex and noticed that most of the kitchen appliances are from GE. But the dishwashers all seem to be from Magic Chef from what I see. The Kenmore washer that Karen and Sid have are Kenmore picture window models which at the beginning are coppertone...

Nilsson Schmilsson refrigerator, a side by side

I think it is a Whirlpool fridge from the early to mid 70's. Looks very familiar to the one we had growing up. The door design looks very similar to the one we had. Doug

    Whirlpool Top Load Dishwasher

Guy, My 2 cents on this machine, get it. it looks to be from the late 60's to the early 70,s based on the controls of the machine and backsplash. Whirlpool made a great dishwasher at this time and this being a topload it is a rare one. Go for it and enjoy it. Doug

    FREE KM dryer

We had that very dryer growing up in the very early 60's, it worked very well and dried most loads in 30 minutes or so. It also has an ozone light in it that worked well. It was replaced in 1972 with a Kenmore 70 series machine. Boy if this was close I would try to get it, its a good dryer. Doug

What's Your Floorcare Routine? Mop and bucket? Swiffer? Broom?

Well hubbie bought the swiffer mop and used to clean the floor. But now the chore is mine and I vacuum the floor first, and then use 4 swiffer wet mops to clean it. I am not a fan of swiffer at all just feel that it just gets some of the dirt and just smears it around. I rather get on my hands...

Hotpoint dishwasher from 50's detergent dispenser question...

Hi David, from what you are showing, it looks like the detergent dispenser has been replaced, as these Hotpoint dishwashers have 2 wash periods in them and the detergent dispenser shown in the book shows that it should have 2 separate cups to hold the detergent for both wash periods. Wash water...

    Physical part stores

We use to have a few appliance part stores in northern NJ where I live, but they soon folded up and closed. Now if you need an appliance part you have to look towards the internet to find the part. I guess the people today would rather call a appliance repair man then fix it themselves. But then...

    Cold water washing has arrived

I will never wash in cold water as my water comes from a well and the cold water temp is a steady 54 degrees in all seasons.I will rinse in cold but that's it. Warm or hot is what I grew up with and I will die with washing our laundry in, never cold. Doug

model number of this inglis whirlpool washer

Well I will chime in and say that parts are still available and that they are easy to repair by yourself as the design of these machine are pretty simple. If a tech came to repair it and told you to junk it, I would get another tech to check them out. I believe that most techs out there will...

    Kenmore

Good save, my mom bought that same washer but in white in 1969 and it lasted until 1991 when it just wouldnt start. That machine had all you wanted in a washer, 2 speeds and three cycles three water levels and five water selections if you changed the selector after the wash started. Doug

    mid-80s cars...

I have to say I really like the cars from the 80's, as we really had cars that had style and character and you could tell what car was from what brand. Maybe the quality wasn't there, but it was getting better and better with every year. It was nice to see new models come out and see the...

Here’s one for vintage air conditioner lovers

That,s a really cool unit. I remember seeing these units in the summer Sears catalog and thought that they were really a different unit. They had the ability to dehumidify the air without over cooling it which is neat. I am into the vintage ac units and we have several as backup units when the...

    New Dishwasher

We bought the 604 model last May which is one step down from your machine and it is a nice machine and it does hold a lot of dishes and glassware. Since we just scrape and load and dont pre-rinse our stuff, when you run the machine it always takes over 3 hours to wash a load of dishes. That I...
