Do Dishwasher in "autoclean" mode know if it needs another rinse?

As others have said, most of the time, no. Our KA on ProWash does purge after first rinse rarely with high soils. Otherwise 2 standard rinses. Our Bosch on Auto would do purges if needed between prerinse - wash, wash - first rinse, first and second rinse, but never added a full rinse. I still...

(dishwasher) are these any good? mid-'00s WP horizontal motor.

We had one. The seal for the top spray arm in the back of the tub failed. Replaced that and removed inlet flow restrictor. Performance was largely improved.

    Downy rinse and refresh

I have used it for a long time. Never any issues with residue.

Whirlpool's revised models - what have they changed in the normal cycle?

I completely agree. However, the normal cycle does those small purges because of how poor the filtration is. Like he showed, the Light cycle is actually better. Had the unfortunate experience with some similar machines as in his video. I never recommend a Frigidaire DW. Whirlpool machines have...

Whirlpool's revised models - what have they changed in the normal cycle?

ProWash is so good that I wouldn’t worry about the changes. The non-sensor Whirlpools though, not sure about that.

I finally tried Great Value (Walmart) Dishwasher pods (wow!)

But is that ALL the ingredients? Very small list. No corrosion inhibitors, chelators, etc.

    New Kenmore Vacuum

We have the same vac. It is actually a bit better than our Miele U1 as far as suction and carpet cleaning. Not as maneuverable or unique, but ultimately better.

FL Washers - Normal Cycle Warm Temp. Correlation to Soil Level

My LG built Kenmore does not do this. Normal, warm, heavy soil, water temp of 26°C. Tried a notch down on soil level, no difference. Other machines might do this but mine doesn’t. I still feel that my washer on Normal Warm will fill with hot until 30°C is reached, then fills with cold for the...

I finally tried Great Value (Walmart) Dishwasher pods (wow!)

CR rates their GV gel as top rated gel product. Better than most tabs. Just uncertain of ingredients.

FL Washers - Normal Cycle Warm Temp. Correlation to Soil Level

I have not noticed this on my LG built Kenmore, though usually run either low soil on Normal, or Whites cycle. I will have to try this out. Warm usually fluctuates depending on load size. Larger size is cooler, leading me to believe that there is a certain amount of hot water the machine is...

    Definition of Cold Water Washing

That “definition” applies for Tide Professional, and is used loosely compared to standard “high” temp washes. Cold washes otherwise are 30°C/85°F for residential.

Are New Appliances Always Doomed? Why A Grass Roots Movement Could Change Things

Manufacturers have been trying to reduce production costs while increasing profits for decades. Newer machines still are a direct result of that. The issue I see is that people actually buy the crap that is made and replace it within a few years willingly in hopes that the replacement is better...

Samsung 220 volt-Vented Combo Has Been Delivered - First Impressions

That makes sense! Just shocking to see that much water use. Makes me very curious to see how much my Kenmore uses.

Samsung 220 volt-Vented Combo Has Been Delivered - First Impressions

This machine defaults to one rinse? Then 2nd rinse as option, and still uses as much water as you have listed? That’s terrible.

KitchenAid KDFE204KPS: The good, the bad, the ugly

See, odd enough, my KA dries better. It does have the fan dry system though. We only use heated dry in the winter for additional heat and moisture. Bosch never seemed to dry as well with intense dry activated as well. Of course, this is all model dependent, too.

KitchenAid KDFE204KPS: The good, the bad, the ugly

Should be a very good machine. The removable filter design is more reliable, though seemingly clean as well if not better than more expensive model. ProWash is absolutely the way to go, and is very flexible. Though these models are known to not dry as well. Rinse aid will be a must. Keep us...

    Persil Laundry Detergent

If it were an issue with body oil, why would it resolve when switching detergent? Mind you, this issue did not occur with using Cheer liquid either. I’m still convinced it is an issue with Persil.

    LG Washer Cycles

As I have stated numerous times on here, TurboWash intermediate spins are anemic at best, and leaves excess detergent and water in clothes. The spray rinse helps, but the sump is not fully drained at the end of the interim spin. Thus, TurboWash leaves a lot to be desired with rinsing. An Extra...

    car feature subscriptions...

People like to talk trash about my “outdated” 4Runner (2023), but nothing needs a subscription, nothing needs unlocked, and it works fully as designed. Much less electronic crap than the new model. Glad I bought it when I did.

    Persil Laundry Detergent

Polyester seemed to be the biggest culprit, but it occurred on all items. Even washing in sanitize cycle would still result in the odor. I use Dirt Labs booster as well, so I have low suspicion it is an issue of body oil or remaining soil.
