Fixed!! The new old stock switch is installed and the dryer is working as it should. What a relief! All of the talk from others about 'maybe it's time for a new washer and dryer' has been silenced!

All was fine until. . .after running the dryer on the air fluff cycle, I returned the dial to regular push to start and nothing happens, except the timer will DING after about 10-15 min. Any suggestions of what could be wrong? It was functioning very well until now.

Thanks for the help Vacosaurus. The bulbs and starters are brand new. I got an 18 inch 15 watt bulb for the washer and a 24 inch 20 watt bulb for the dryer. The starters for both lights are FS2. Are there different size FS2 starters? If so, that may be the problem. Or the ballast transformers...
