All was fine until. . .after running the dryer on the air fluff cycle, I returned the dial to regular push to start and nothing happens, except the timer will DING after about 10-15 min. Any suggestions of what could be wrong? It was functioning very well until now.

control switch

After some investigation I think it might be the control switch that's the problem. If anyone has one to sell please let me know.

Two hundred dollars? Yikes! I like Angels Appliances. They've come through with a few things for me that I couldn't find anywhere else, but on some things their prices can be a bit ridiculous. It took me all of five minutes to beat that price using the updated Whirlpool part number (33302528). The seller at the link below claims to have six of them in stock for $82.16 plus shipping and I'd even consider that price too high. You can do better if you look around more. But keep Angels on a list of places to look for hard to find parts.

Thanks

Thanks to everyone for their helpful suggestions. I did find a new old stock Maytag part 3-2528 on ebay for about $75.00 shipped. I hope that will fix it.
I want to know how to trouble shoot the old appliances I own more methodically, instead of just throwing parts at the problem. I will be testing the dryer components and circuits with a multi-meter, after I learn how the tool works that is, ha!

Very Well

So glad you found one for less than what I paid.  It's a real simple fix and your machine will be running like showroom condition.

Alrighty, so glad it's back in service.  Those control switches caused many of 806-608-810-812 & so on series machines go to the dump/crusher.  Folks not knowing how simple they were to fix.
