    Frigidaire/GM Custom Deluxe Washer

I used to have ten of these "diaper-washers" in the garage. Most of them just needed a new bellows and a dusting-off.

wanted to buy kenmore wringer washer 1950s

I have a late 40's Kenmore BOL in my collection. It is average in cosmetic appearance with a bit of surface rust here and there. Works perfectly. I even have the booklet that came with it. The owner jotted the delivery date in pencil on the front cover. Not trying to be a tease. Just saying...

    Tide Professional Laundry Detergent

After reading about the Tide Professional in the past post, I tried the Tide Ultra Oxy powder. It has changed the way I do my laundry. I am very impressed with the results. I find the fragrance rinses out well, and have no problem with the very light remainder.

    Detergent choices

Bob---- I have been using the Tide Oxi powder for a few months now and I have to say it is really doing a good job. I have finally broken my old habit of hot washes for everything. I rarely use Clorox anymore. I am very impressed.

PotD - Dye Clothes in a Unimatic DCI-58

I do not recall. People regularly used Clorox back then so even if there were a color transfer the bleach would take care of it. Today, those old rings are so porous they probably would hold on to some color. IMO the WCI-56 and WCI-57 machines would be the most vulnerable with those Gray rubber...

My Summer of Vintage Washer Rubber Reproduction

That takes a good bit of work. Those came out beautifully. Those of us who have large collections of machines can always use some of these. I can use some of all three! Just advise when you are ready to sell some!

    Maytag bluebell?

If that "Maytag" sticker on the front is original--- Then, it is not too old compared with other BOL manual Maytags. My memories of the "Blue Bell's" were that the Gyratator did not have a center-column. The metal Gyratotr depicted is placed so it is difficult to see whether or not it has a...

Stand in it--------- and stomp around the tub. It will eventually unstick.

    Arm & Hammer Deep Clean

Go 'figya------ My roommate is an appliance repair tech. He wears the dark-blue Dickies slacks, and gets them absolutely filthy. He swears by the Arm & Hammer liquid! He normally uses a tepid wash temperature and washes them in one of the 1-18's. I never used it so I don't know of it's past...

    Ariel Multi - initial thoughts…

Ariel has a terrific scent for clothes in the summer-time. As Mexican brands go, I find Viva to be the strongest when cleaning greasy things. I have some older formulae with phosphates, so that is for warm-hot water wash. I still find that a cup of clear ammonia boosts the grease-cutting...

    Today’s picture of the day

Robert------- The early slant-fronts had a reputation for seriously tangling. Also, most detergents and all soaps were high-sudsing back in the day. The conundrum was, if the kids clothes were very dirty, and you needed to add extra detergent, you got sudz-lock and likely still had a tub of...
