    1950 maytag washer

That's the first automatic . . . . . . we had when I was growing up. It lasted through three children for 15 years. A great machine. Jerry Gay

"Dream Machine" dishwasher found and eventually rescued

Our first dishwasher . . . . . . was a GE portable with the bowtie impeller. That machine could clean anything you put in it. The impeller was remarkable. However, it could be heard on the next planet when it was running. But CLEAN it could. Loved it. Jerry Gay Winston-Salem, NC

Fisher and Paykel Topload dryer (Post images below)

I've had one for 15 years . . . Love it!!! It's gas fired and has worked beautifully the entire time. The tub rotation reverses every few minutes, thus there's no tangling or balling up of the clothing. This is especially useful when drying bedsheets. I am unable to include a picture...

    Replacing Maytag Neptune

I have a . . . . . . Speed Queen front loader which is a real workhorse.  It cleans well and spins at 1400 RPM in the final spin.   I'm in Winston-Salem.   Jerry Gay

    nice GE Mobile Maid...

That's close to the . . . . . . first dishwasher we ever had.  It did a great job cleaning, but it could be heard in the next county.  That bowtie impeller really did its job.   Jerry Gay

    POD 6-2-21 WP SudsMiser

The only person I knew . . . . . .  that had a suds saver machine (Kenmore) lived on a farm and had well water.  They had 3 or 4 children, and the suds saver mechanism helped to keep the well from running dry in the dry summers.  She told me she would even adjust the timer knob so she could...

i seem to be on a g.e. dishwasher spree lately!!!

Our first dishwasher . . . . . .  was a GE portable, the one with the bow tie impeller.  It did a great job of cleaning the dishes.  The only problem was it could be heard in the next county when it was running.   After many years of excellent service, it was replaced with a Maytag built-in...

SPEED QUEEN / ALLIANCE SURVEY OF AW MEMBERS

I bought a . . . . . . Speed Queen front load machine at the wash-in in Beltsville, MD from the guru of washing machines.  It performs flawlessly.  I am amazed that there is no vibration when it goes into its fast spin.  It's been a great deal for me.   Jerry Gay

1949 Maytag AMP in the Hartford Metropolitan Area

That's the washer we got . . . . . . in the late 1940's or early 1950's after our Thor retired.  The Maytag was with us for 16 years with no problems whatsoever until it died.  Great machine.   Jerry Gay

    2021 washer quiz

I had a 1973 or 4 Maytag . . . . . . that worked flawlessly for many years.  I now have a SpeedQueen front load which is 4 or 5 years old, and it works well.  There are only a couple of complaints about the front load, one of which is once it starts, you can't add anything to the load because...

    Bendix Washing Machine

Bendix made the . . . . . . first automatic washing machine.  It's a workhorse, but you must bolt it to the floor.  There is no suspension system built in, so when it starts to spin, it will literally walk across the floor.   Washes well, but the spin cycle is a bit anemic.  I think the spin...

Anyone know of this old Maytag washer?

Good workhorse . . . . . . washer if one is willing to deal with the wringer.  That is a newer model because the older ones had red trim where this one has the blue.   Some of these machines came with a pump to empty the water and some  simply used gravity to drain.   I had one  I used...

    Miele vs fisher and paykel

My F&P dish drawer unit . . . . . . is 14 years old.  I LOVE 'em.  It's perfect when one doesn't have tons of dishes per meal.  They're quiet while operating and do a wonderful job of cleaning.   It was a big change for me when I bought them, but have never regretted my choice.  And if you...
