Amazon “Presto” laundry detergent and fabric softener...

Hello AW family, While browsing Amazon, I noticed that they now have their own line of laundry detergent and fabric softener. The reviews seem to be good...but I’d rather come to the experts. Has anyone here tried either of them? And does anyone know who makes them? Are they a Huish/Sun...

    A fabric softener question...

So, I have a bit of a dilemma, and would love some opinions... Growing up, whenever my family would use liquid fabric softener (which was not often), we’d use Downy. And as I entered adulthood (college, marriage, divorce, et al), that was the brand I almost always stuck with, unless there was a...

    Ariel?

This Ariel vs European Ariel... Having used both, I would say that they are fairly similar in cleaning power. The only difference, is that this particular version of Ariel has a much lighter, almost citrus like fragrance.

Are they watering down my Era detergent?

Vintage Era!! @ Sudsomatic - I’m curious to know, if you used that vintage Era? I’ve always been under the impression, that liquid laundry detergent’s did not hold up over the years, and may not work properly. Was there any noticeable degradation in cleaning or fragrance? And what does the...

    Ariel?

I think this is the first time that I’ve ever seen Ariel packaged like this. I found this box at one of those Dash junk dash stores, on the Pennsauken/Camden border. It is a basic white powder, without colored speckles. The fragrance reminds me quite a bit of 1980’s Gain powder, but not as...

    Foreign detergent jackpot!

In my travels, I stumbled across a Hispanic grocery store here in NJ. On a chance, I wandered into the detergent isle, and look what I found!!! I know that Ace is sold as Tide here. 123, while made by Henkel...not sure what that would be comparable to. They both smell great - especially the...

    For my next purchase...

@askolover The liquid Ariel at BigLots - was that the power liquid that can be readily found throughout the US, or was it the Ariel pictured here? I’m curious if there’s a difference in fragrance/color/cleaning.

    For my next purchase...

...I was thinking of one of these two detergents. The first, is Ace “Dobel Poder” (Mexican Tide). I’m intrigued, as it reminds me of the Ariel power liquid. Has anyone here tried it? Is it similar in performance (and fragrance) to our liquid Tide? The other, is liquid Ariel from India (Ariel...

All Free & Clear - Opinions?

@ vacerator Touché!! Yes, I’m a fan of free and clear mortgages. And being free and clear of that girl, is even better!

All Free & Clear - Opinions?

My ex-girlfriend used to use it.... ...and she liked it. But she also had low expectations for detergent. I’m not a fan of “Free and Clear” anything, but I can say this much: All (as well as Surf, Sunlight, the now-defunct Wisk, and almost every store brand) is made by Sun products (now part of...

    Yet another detergent question...

@Rolls Really? I’ve never experienced that. That, or I just haven’t been paying attention. I’ve found that when I’ve used the cheaper detergents on my gym clothes (say, Arm & Hammer, any of the Sun family of detergents, et al), they don’t wash in enough of a scent to get rid of the funk.

    Yet another detergent question...

@ gorenje I had a feeling. I've seen Japanese detergents for sale before (including Japanese Ariel, which is also on my list), and most were $20 - if that. Fun fact - I've tried "Attack"; it was a good cleaning detergent, but I don't know if it was worth the hype. You're very kind, and I thank...

    Yet another detergent question...

@gorenje (again)... It was insane. There was no way it could’ve cost that much, with the shipping. They were just grossly inflating it. Honestly, I would love to try both. But I don’t want to pry much from your collection, and I don’t want the shipping and handling charges to be...

    Yet another detergent question...

@ gorenje... Ingemar, I’d love that! Thank you!!! The only place I could find Dash online (the Italian version, anyway...), was through a backdoor way on Amazon UK. But for one bottle at $112, it seemed like an extremely pricey proposition.

    Yet another detergent question...

I have not...however... ...I don’t think it’d be right for me. I like seeing suds in my washer.

    Yet another detergent question...

So, as some of you may know, I live in the US, and loathe our current offerings. Why, I don't know. I think it may have to do with the fact that the offerings in the UK, Germany, et al just smell better (and to a degree, clean better). With that said, I come to you with an odd question... I'm...

    Bold laundry detergent?!!

Unfortunately... ...I've heard nothing further from them. Such is life, no? Until then, I will continue to enjoy my Bold, and will hopefully come across another oddball detergent or two (or three)....

Fabric Softener that Speeds Up Drying Time?

@rp2813 "..except for the recent Bold find at Big Lots -- that is true low sudsing "he" powder.." Glad to have corrupted you! :)

    Bold laundry detergent?!!

@ Laundress You mention that Era was discontinued. Yet, it's still showing up on P&G's website, and I see it for sale at just about every supermarket and big box retailer that I visit. Did this happen recently?

    Bold laundry detergent?!!

So... P&G emailed me back - again. They think this product is from 2007, which makes no sense, with a 2017 copyright date on the package. I advised them as such. Let's see what happens.
