    18" Vintage Dishwasher

Does anyone know of any 18" wide vintage dishwashers? I know of the Sears Kenmore Space Saver, but are there any others? Also, has anyone seen any of these Space Savers for sale recently? Thanks!

    1956 Frigidaire Imperial Cold-Pantry

New question... Since I haven’t been able to find a close up picture of the inside of this fridge model (most had the freezer on the bottom, if I’m not mistaken?), can anyone tell me what went on either side of the “butter” compartment? It seems like I’m missing a couple pieces.

    1956 Frigidaire Imperial Cold-Pantry

I realize that I’m reviving an old thread, but I just purchased a fridge that looks very much like these! I was wondering if anyone could share where is a good place to look for parts (I need a metal shelf for the fridge portion), as well as insight on model #s? I’m trying to figure out which...

Need some lawn mower advice. What is the best?

We really love our Honda mower. My father also has one, and has had it for 25 years without an issue, still starts on the first pull everytime! We have had our Honda mower for about 5 years, and it seems equally as reliable. Honda usually makes a lot of their stuff in North America, but I'm not...

To Carpet or Not To Carpet Your Bath!

"Noodle Mat" We used to have the exact same issue, but found this great bath mat at the Hudson's Bay store about 6 months ago that solved it- my son calls it the "noodles mat". It's this odd microfibre shaggy type of mat, and it dries easily and doesn't smell. It's just a rectangle, but we find...

    Question about Tappan Stove

Thanks! Vacerator, that is very helpful! Thank you! For reference, here is the ad: http://rochester.craigslist.org/app/5576909316.html It appears that the front control panel is at a 90 degree angle... unless I'm mistaken? Really love this stove.

    Question about Tappan Stove

Hello all, I have a question for you knowledgeable folk. When did Tappan start making electric spark ignition standard on their gas ranges? I have recently come across a gorgeous avocado green gas Tappan for sale, it is the stove of my dreams, but the owner thinks it may have pilot lights (but...

    STUPID DETERGENT IDEA 2-28-16

What we do... I make my own detergent and have had really good results (especially considering the fact that we cloth diaper our baby... if that doesn't put it to the test, don't know what does!). All I do is combine 3 bars of handmade coconut oil soap (approx 5 oz each) with 6 cups of washing...

Vintage gas stoves and pilot lights

Your cats get on top of the stove? Brave kitties!! Heh heh!

Vintage gas stoves and pilot lights

Yikes! Luckily we don't get a lot of rodents around here (the cold winters tend to cull their numbers, I suppose), but that sounds like bad news! I wish I was good at making bread, but so far that's a skill I have yet to master. Perhaps an older stove may help... :)

Vintage gas stoves and pilot lights

Thanks, Mikael. I never thought of the heat factor, but that's good to know. I like the idea of lighting with a wand lighter... seems easy enough! Thanks for the idea.

Vintage gas stoves and pilot lights

Thank you everyone for the info! Much appreciated. I was hoping there would be something from the 1960's that had a sparker, but oh well. Can't have it all, I guess!

Vintage gas stoves and pilot lights

Hello, I'm having a difficult time finding good information online about this, so I just thought I'd ask here. I currently have two stoves, an electric 1963 Custom Imperial Frigidaire Flair, and a modern gas Jenn-Air. I love my Flair for the ovens, but usually use the cooktop of the Jenn-Air...
