Last week I bought a 1959 pink Frigidaire Range. It’s 40” and has 2 large and 2 small burners. This week I’ll be starting the detailing and I’m wondering about the stove eyes. I haven’t been able to plug it in since the house won’t be finished for awhile, so I don’t know if they even work. There are no caps/plugs for the center of each coil so we are thinking about replacing the coils and pans, plus the cord is missing. We replaced the coils on a ‘55 GE that we had a while back, but they were fairly easy to find. I'm also considering replacing the oven elements and the oven thermostat. Are the ‘50’s GM Frigidaire parts as easily available as the GE parts. I would like to hear some thoughts and recommendations on this stove.

I’m assuming the cord is something I could get at a big box store? It hasn’t been out of the trailer since we bought it, we are starting the rehab on Thursday so I should out more as far as the condition then. But from what I’m hearing I’m beginning think I should have stuck with GE.

Why "Stick with GE"?  This is a great range, while some things are harder to come by by no means is it more of a challenge that any other vintage appliance.

All you need is a standard 3 conductor range cord available anywhere.  Wire it up and report back if there are any issues.

Thanks everybody!

Thanks for the encouragement. Everything may work, but I won’t know for awhile when I finally have a place to plug it in. On a side note, my awesome husband found a source for the new stove elements so if I need them I know where to get them.
