The knob broke off of my 1985 large capacity Whirlpool dryer. Part appears to be NLA. Does anyone out there have an extra knob kicking around for sale? Thanks.
To fix knobs ends I found Sugru comes handy.
it's just like Play-Dough.
You make a cylinder using a large pencil cap you push it in the spline slightly oiled with wd40 not to make it stick.
You take it out and let it dry.
When hardened it will fit just right.
Thank you everyone for your helpful responses. Yes, it is more than just the knob (how dumb of me not to point that out in my first post!). I do indeed need a new switch. Here’s the FSP switch part number: 695091. I have also included a photo of the switch. Please let me know if anyone has an extra one for sale!
Temp switches are a very common parts many models of different ages may share the very same part.
This one looks like yours.
You gotta look if spline fits.
