I have a rusty 1959 Easy Spinner washer that needs the pump repaired or replaced. It works we'll otherwise so, I kept it for a rainy day to rebuild. We'll, today ,it rained. I was out riding in town to get some fresh air and stopped at a store where they sell gay literature and novels, biographies and autobiographies of gay celelebrities . They also have nostalgic items and antiques. I met the owners at store they had originally that was too small and we became friends after going to a rollerderby run by all lesbian girls. When I went in, Gail got my attention and told me in the back of the shop where their utilities were kept . There sat an Easy Spinner a but rusty but not As bad as mine. I plugged it in and at first, the motor guns. I set it to spin, turned it's tub and it came on. I set it to agitate and it worked. I know it's probably from the late forties or early fifties. I never saw one like this from that era but, there are no faucets, one speed, and the spinner part of it has a short stub, not perforated and a hinged door.no timer and a white metal swirl type agitator. The agitation is quiet but the spinning is loud. May need an oil change. Due to our friendship and their connections with Roseann Bare who I met and did laundry for,I will be picking it up this weekend for $50!! :-) .I'll make one out of two and strip the other remains for parts. My friends I live with are ecstatic because they know I'll be using it for sheets, area rugs and blankets.all of which can be problematic in unbalanced spinning. I also grabbed a Drugstore pair both of which need new motherboards. They're the set with square doors otherwise mint condition.
