The cabinet has been cleaned and polished. The interior has been wiped down.
Rotted speaker cloth.
Vacuum tubes are beautiful. Towards the right is the rolled up aerial wire.
The pins on this tube appear burnt. That's a bad omen. This may indicate a fried power supply.

I can't get over the radios shown here lately-In almost like new shape.The ones That Herman used to get here the cabinets were half rotted,coming apart and the chassis badly corroded.The old radio was kept in a barn or shed after the owner bought a new one-the older one lingered in the barn,forgotten,until the owner ran into someone that wanted it.Herman was good at restoring those basket case radios into working -presentable condition.

Another nice radio! And I'm surprised it was only $50. I've less interesting radios in terrible shape going for a lot more than $50 in thrift shops in my area. "It looks old. It be worth a lot even if the finish is shot, half the tubes are missing, and there a bunch of loose wires inside!"
It was 50% off that day. It was originally going for $100. I am not sure just how valuable these old console radios are. It's my understanding the table models are far more desirable. I would love to get a "tombstone" style radio someday.

Nothing like 50% off day! Unless, of course, it's a 99 cent clearance sale!
I don't know radio values; however, I think I've heard before that consoles are less desirable just because of the space they take up.
