<span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 12px; font-weight: 400;">Last week I completed a project which started out with no certain success and was extremely ambitious. I rebuilt the worst burnout compressor I have seen. It is a General Electric model CG Globe-Top refrigerator. This was a project which I did only as an exercise in self-education and to help with future repairs on more valuable units.</span><br style="max-height: 1e+06px; overflow-wrap: break-word; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 12px; font-weight: 400;" /><br style="max-height: 1e+06px; overflow-wrap: break-word; font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 12px; font-weight: 400;" /><span style="font-family: Verdana, Arial; font-size: 12px; font-weight: 400;">The video is in several parts, with the link to each part provided below. Screws, Nuts and Bolts

David,

In addition to your meticulous and dedicated work, which is always impressive and fascinating, the way you showcase the superb -- and in this case, indestructible -- engineering behind American industrial manufacturing from this period makes me want to throw my flimsy plastic Waterpik out the window.

I hope the movements toward "right to repair" legislation continue to gain momentum so more of us can experience some of the satisfaction you enjoy in keeping useful items viable, no matter their size and function.

I need to stumble across your threads when I'm not at work...

David, thanks again for taking the time to detail every step you took with this ball top GE. From the scrap pile to "a working appliance".

Thanks again for showing the scotch-yoke compressor RUNNING for all to see. Absolutely fascinating. And, your efforts to get the motor rewound has given me inspiration to consider getting a GM Frigidaire Unimatic and Bendix-Philco Duomatic motor rewound. If you can find a place that does work on hermetic motors, I imagine there are places that will do work on general use motors.

Ben
