This, along with a couple of other models with the thin backsplash, used a peculiar oven thermostat that was connected to the dial by a cable that ran down to the thermostat as there was not enough depth for a thermostat assembly behind the dial. If the oven thermostat goes, you are SOL unless you can find a similar range to cannibalize.
 
The figure 8 cable went wonky on my mom's '49 Commodore model sometime in the 1970s.  My dad used picture wire for a replacement.  I remember helping him and making sure the lower thermostat pulley remained in the "off" position or we would have been SOL trying to calibrate.  AFAIK, that same picture wire is still in place at the stove's new home some 45 years later, give or take a few.

 

I'm pretty sure the brochure for the '49 models included this "Rancho" model, or something very similar.
